Hi I've been doing some reading up on the Italian Wars, especially, the Wars of the League of Cambrai of 1508-16 as it seems particularly rich in battles & actions. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_the_League_of_Cambrai Does anyone know of any boardgames based on this? Thanks Al |

There's not many Renaissance games period, so it's a tall order. A campaign game that is a bit pricey (looks beautiful however) is this one: link |

I remember that there was one campaign game on the Italian wars for download free in the net, but for the heck of it I cannot remember the name nor find the copy I got
I also have ALBH, which is a good campaign simulation. I am sure there is a way to use it as scenario generator for Tabletop games (Impetus or FOGR), but yet lacked the time to figure out how. |

Pike and Plunder can be used as a boardgame alone. Its a great set and we have used it for campaigns at the club. pikeandplunder.vexillia.ltd.uk thoroughly recommended! |

Yep, that was the one
Just ordered it for the v2. I was a bit unhappy that the HRE was not at least a non-player faction – as Maximilian had his own plans for Northern Italy and Imperial armies were independent and contingents worked in Spanish or French armies as part of his diplomatic activities. Anyway, I always though the Italian wars would make a good block game, like Hammer of the Scots of Columbia games, with several factions and perhaps players swapping when one party succumbs. |
