I'm thinking of trying brass tubing as replacement guns on 6mm bombers but not sure what diameter to go with. Any thoughts? |

The tiniest brass rod you can find. Or, since at that small a diameter brass rod will be fairly bendy, steel from the smallest straight pins you can find. Oh, and you probably already know you'll need a pin vise and itty bitty bits to make the hole into which to glue the rods. And LOTS of patience. Doug |

Doug, I've got the pin vice and the teeny bits to go with it. Looking for a place to buy patience from, anyone know a retailer in the UK? |

Afraid not on the patience store – I've been looking for one here in the US for decades with no luck. However, another thought occurred to me – you might consider using a flexible material for the guns, instead of a rigid one. Brush bristles, or whatnot. Doug |

Doug, That might work. I'll have to look for something a bit stiffer than my old toothbrush though. It provideds good aerials for my 10mm armour. |

0.020" steel music wire is about right for 40mm cannon barrel shrouds (5.7-6" diameter in scale). 0.005" is about right for a .50cal barrel (~1.5" diameter in scale). |

Guys: I've used electric guitar strings with good results. They don't bend when cut that small. I use 1st and 2nd string wires (I think they are .009" and .012", or something like.) VERY cheap and available at all music stores worldwide. Although maybe not mathematically correct, they do look just the right girth. —Rolando |

Good idea, and one E string should provide about a zillion barrels. Doug |
