Thanks for posting here. I'm not a Saga player today but do plan on picking up the C&C rules / supplement.

From what I understand, the new book will contain all the rules as well so you don't need to buy the first rules set. But who's kidding who – it's only a matter of time…. :-)

Well the Byzantine battle board is already available and my understanding is that this will be fully compatible with the existing rules and factions. So yes, you can use Byzantines.
