Hey guys. I still play 40K. Not competitively anymore, just every few weekends my fiancee and I will play a little game against each other. My only remaining figures (not counting my display models) are my Orkz. So while browsing a yard sale I saw two books. GorkaMorka. Da Roolz and Da Uvver Book, which as I understand it, is all you need to play. I was intrigued, and bought them for the grand total of $2. USD After a read through my mind is blown. This seems like it'd be amazing fun. Does any one here have experience with GorkaMorka? Share your thoughs? We both converted some models from My ork force to adjust for the game, and I'm scratch building a few more buggies and trukks to go with it. We made up our starter mob and are going to play this weekend. |

This seems like it'd be amazing fun. Well GW didn't think so and killed it just like they have to all of their other specialize games. But that is what GW does today. Gouged their Customers and destroy what were once great games. |

One of my favorite GW games. So many good times with friends, bashing each other's gangs and seeing trakks and trukks explode :) A friend of mine recently ran the rules using Legos. |

Yes GorkaMorka is a blast!! it's like Mad Max with Orks. |

A great find at a great price! Loads of fun playing without a ton of figures. |

GorkaMorka was the BEST thing GW ever did. If you can track down a copy of DiggaNob, your fun increases exponentially. auction |

I always wanted to try GorkaMorka but never did get around to it. I did collect some of the peripheral figures for it though. Is it based off Necromunda? That had been my impression at the time. |

Game engine is nearly identical (ie it's 40K 2nd edition with added chrome) and they both have a similar focus on campaign games and improving you gang through experience. Mordheim is the fantasy branch of the trinity of games, if you've played any of them they'll all be familiar. If you enjoy that style of campaign-with-experience skirmish gaming I suggest also looking at Mantic's Deadzone, which is aimed at filling the same niche. |

We actually just started playing a little Gorka again. Great fun! Buggy as hell! (Pardon the pun.) Unbalanced like the sanity of a Call of Cthulhu character! Just plain wild crazy fun! (With the right players.) The rules used to available as free pdfs at GW, but now you'll have to find them elsewhere. |

I did manage to download the rules a while back
and I do have a growing ork force for Rogue Trader, as well as some Diggas and mutants
so I guess all I'd really need is to cobble together some orky vehicles (I wonder if hot-rodding some WWII kits would work?). I'd better read the rules

Given the vehicle focus, this is one I'd like to convert to 15mm. Finding properly goofy vehicles might be tricky, though. |

Gorkamorka trucks are a lot of fun to build..look out for lot sells of model kits. I scored some German and american 1/2 tracks from WW2. jazz them up with junk from the bits-box and you are good to go! |

Thats a fun game. There was a time when GW was giving it away with either a White Dwarf sub or minimum mail order purchase. I forget which. Thats how I got my copy. |

For 28mm the hard bit isn't the figures – just raid various Ork ranges – but the vehicle sprues. But – just pick up the cheap knock-offs of Tamiya/Dragon 1/35th WWII kits that frequently show up in cheap toy shops and get kitbashing. |

the cheap knock-offs of Tamiya/Dragon 1/35th WWII kits that frequently show up in cheap toy shops I'm not even sure where the cheap toy shops are these days
outside of Toys R Us I don't think there are any straight up toy stores around here
didn't Kaybee toys go under? |

I grabbed a few open topped jeeps from Dollar tree. Cheap chinese crap, but they are now sufficiently Orky thanks to some super glue, plastic sheets, popsicle sticks, and bitz. |

Hey Ethan, I played in your DH game at HAVOC this past March. I think you'd be able to find a few people willing to play Gorkamorka in our group. We're mainly Epic and Warmaster players, plus a few of us now have Necromunda. I know there's some Gorkamorka stuff in the group as well (I think I have enough for 3 Ork Mobz, Grotz and Diggas). We're scattered all over New England, but we try to game as a group monthly at the Time Machine. We'll be there on May 17th, all day. |
