"Earlier this week, retired Air Force lieutenant general David Deptula and Michael Makovsky of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs penned an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal arguing that the United States should turn over a dozen surplus B-52 heavy bombers to Israel.

Deptula and Makovsky said that the eight-engine B-52s should come with a consignment of America's special Massive Ordnance Penetrators—gigantic bombs tailored for smashing buried facilities. Specifically, nuclear facilities.

The B-52-MOP duo would uniquely enhance Israel's capability to deter the Iranian nuclear program, Deptula and Makovsky claimed.

They already have the deep penetration bombs.

Surprised they haven't come up with ballistic missiles with those on the tips.

Can't give B-52s away anyway. They are all part of the Nuclear treaties signed with Russia. Dont think it would go over very well giving a strategic bomber to a known nuclear power.

As long as they are just going to start giving stuff away to anyone who asks I'd like to get an A-10. I mean, I did at least help pay for the damned things.

"They are all part of the Nuclear treaties signed with Russia."

There's also a treaty that Russia signed guaranteeing the territorial integrity of Ukraine. I'd say that right now, all bets are off.

Heard just a couple of days ago about some move the USA was making, in order to comply with the START treaty.

I thought to myself, "REALLY"???

Not sure why, since clearly the other side doesn't/hasn't complied, given their breach of the ABM Systems agreement decades ago, with their SA-5 Missiles, in addition to all the others.

Oh come on, Mako.

We can't expect folks to honor their disarmament commitments to us, especially when they're engaging in expansionist military ventures.

After all, they might need those weapons, ya know?

Two wrongs don't make a right, but they often make a left.
