This is my part of my contribution to our Game at Salute on Saturday; the "Vesta", a Roman swan-necked trade ship.

If you are coming to Salute, please look me up on stand GE02, to the left of the door as you come in. You will know me by my T-shirt…

Cheers, Simon

That looks great, Simon thumbs up!

… is that everything ready for Salute, now?

Yes, Phil, I've started to work on the Partizan stuff already! I'm staring at a sea of Imperial Romans. :-)

Great stuff, Simon, I take it that it will fit just nicely inside a Really Useful Box!? I'd love to do things like this, but storage is an issue…

Thanks chaps!

Paul, yes it does. I built it so that the cabin and "poop deck" lift off. Both masts, sails (durled or unfurled) and the steering oars can be removed. The whole ship fits in the 7L box, and there is spare room to fit in the 4 barges, too.

Cheers, Simon

I'll certainly come by to say hello, Simon.

And thanks for the PDF you send me!

Nice conversion work of that splendid hull :-)

That is great Simon. Inspirational – I will need a little flotilla for my Euphrates-based Roman Marines :-)

'a sea of Imperial Romans' huh? What's not to like?

Cheers

Thanks chaps. Paul, we had a jolly little Roman fleet today, at Salute; half a dozen sizeable dhips. But I forgot my camera…

Really impressive work; well done! Where did you get the bas plastic ship?

Beautiful ship :) . The crew represent Romans? as the leader seems that it wears a very greek helmet ;) .

Hi chaps, the base plastic ship is a Zvezda Cog.

The crew are Roman marines, who at one stage wore Greek-style gear. In fact, very many, perhaps most of them were Greeks. I used Foundry Thebans who have the right style of helmet and cuirass. The officer is a Roman in a different style of imitation-Greek helmet. Romans like to copy Greeks, a lot!
