G'Day Gents
Even if the Garde Naionale adopted the flag in accordance to Mr. l'Inspecteur gιnιral Mathieu Dumas
When marching in a great body of troops
they would still break out a standard Battalion flag to guide off with.
I see no reason why they would not use the ones based on the February 1812 style.
The designs that came out on February 1812 had a battalion staff that was 300cm.
These Battalion colours in 1812 were now solid colours.
1st battalion carried the regimental eagle
2nd battalion white
3rd battalion red
4th battalion blue
5th battalion green
6th battalion yellow
If further battalions per regiment were organized
7th battalion violet
8th battalion blue
I wonder
was the order to not create two elite compagnies due to not being able to fulfill that position and role
other than being earned
?
Therefore the battalions would have operated as 8 fusilier pelotons
with the third rank being used en tirailleur when needed.
Best Regards
