"At the Sea-Air-Space 2014 Exposition, Ingalls Shipbuilding highlights its patrol frigate derivative of the company's proven U.S. Coast Guard National Security Cutter (Legend class NSC). The company's patrol frigate consists in several militarized version of the NSC with increased lethality and upgraded combat systems but retaining the same hull form. Ingalls Shipbuilding patrol frigate scale model on display at Sea-Air-Space 2014 featured hull mounted and towed array sonars, torpedo launchers, 8x Harpoon launchers, a 76mm main gun, VLS cells able to launch ESSM, VL ASROC and/or SM-2 missiles and a SeaRam system on top of the hangar. Talking to Navy Recognition, Christie Thomas (Director of Business Development at Ingalss Shipbuilding) explained that the patrol frigate may be fitted with an integrated mast (as shown on the model) or a more traditional mast similar to the one found on the NSC
