I am thinking of buying some 1/100 Robotech models for use in 15mm games as Battlemechs. Scale wise how do they match up? Would 1/144 be a better fit? Can anyone tell me how tall the 1/100 Destroids are?

They stand 5" tall. Many are discontinued. Hobbylink Japan carries the Longbow still but you'll have to do searches for the others. Usually, once anime models like these cease production they start going for a premium in places like e bay.

I have found some Robtech on ebay and they work great for 15mm. I will take some pics.

I suppose I should have been more specific. This is the one I bought:

Tony, great picture thanks. I've seen the Tomahawk/Warhammer in 1/60, 1/72, 1/100, 1/144, etc. What am I looking at there?

Also, if this is a CRD-3R Crusader, would the 1/144 Valkyries work as Wasps and Stingers?

I may have that some place. I will check the loft and post on here if I have it up on my blog. Give me a few hours to find it.

Ok that was easier than I thought it would be. I posted on my blog the mecha kits I have. You can see the stinger "type" one in black undercoat with some 15mm figures. I think it was a 1/100 kit but may have been 1/72 It is 5 an 1/2 inches tall. Hope that is of some help. That's all the mecha kits I have. The rest are mecha toys. Cheers

That Armored Valk is ~5" tall. The Glaug/Marauder is tall enough to walk over the top of a Destroid or Valk without high-centering.

Also, if this is a CRD-3R Crusader, would the 1/144 Valkyries work as Wasps and Stingers?

I'm not sure, I have a 1/100 Macross II Valkyrie that's quite petite, but I'd need to have access to the old Tech Readout 2750, with the various heights listed.

Right what you are seeing in the yellow is a Robotech toy. They came in a box and stand about 7 inches tall. The new pics have what I call a warhammer, rifleman, longbow and in black on the far right is an archer (to use their Battletech names). The smaller mechs that are painted. There is again a longbow warhammer and rifleman. They are about 3 to 3 half inches tall. They come in a blister pack not a box. Don't know what there actual scale is as they are repainted toys. The other big one in black is a griffon (I think). That was a 1/72 scale kit. The stinger was possible 1/100 or 1/72. Hope that's a bit clearer.

Thanks Tony. That helps a lot.

Ive got a couple of those Playmate Robotech Tomahawks toys which i think are almost perfect for 15mm game play, but in a perfect world they would be just another 1/2" taller.

Agreed AVAMANGO. They are the ones I use too.
