Good news for everyone who has been clamoring for the Carnage and Glory Campaign system to compliment the wildly popular tactical systems…it's here…well, at least in theory.

I am going to run a Napoleonic mini campaign at Historicon, 2014 in July. The overall purpose of the exercise will be to test out the beta version of the campaign system and also generate some interesting tabletop games where decisions made in one game will affect the course of the campaign and the next game. The campaign will take place in August, 1813 as the Armistice expires and will feature French against Russians, Austrians and Prussians.

I'm hoping to generate at least 4 tabletop games over the course of the weekend. The games will not be huge since I'll be using my 40mm Napoleonics. There will be three main French players, a CiC and two divisional commanders. For the Allies there will be an overall CiC and one commander for each nationality.

I'll be working with the main commanders before the convention to run the first couple of turns and have the first battle ready to go on Thursday of the convention. From there it's anybody's guess where it goes. The four games will be listed in the PEL so non campaign players can sign up.

I'll provide updates over the next month or two.

How big of an area can the campaign cover? Is it regional? Or can it cover a much larger area? What about total number of forces? How many can it accommodate?

The campaign area is immediately south of Berlin, bordered on the east by Frankfurt and Gubin, on the south by Elsterwerda and on the east by Wittenburg…the map on which the campaign will be played is about 120 miles east to west and about 80 miles north to south. The total forces on each side will approximately 20,000 each, including infantry, cavalry and artillery.

This event is listed in the Historicon PEL.

Hope to see you there.

C&G campaign system…cant wait until it is released for purchase. Look forward to reading an AAR on this. Hope you have time to put one together. Sounds like this should be a blast to GM.
