I'm an old coot and there is a profusion of boards. When topics drop off the front page I usually can't find them again. I can't recall if they are on the 18th century Baltic board or the Lithuanian musketeer board or the Close combat in Northern Europe board, etc.

If I could just click to see the front page for the previous week or so I'd be able to continue adding my pedantic wisdom to these threads. It would be easy because I'd see which ones I'd already clicked on.

How about it, Armintrout? Help an old fart out.

Seems to me that is an argument for a reduction in the number of boards. The more boards you have the more places you have to look to find something again!

Try a title or keyword search in Messages?

If an old *news* item, you can search using Google:

site:theminiaturespage.com/new/ SEARCHTERM
(with a space before "SEARCHTERM"

try it without the space, too:
site:theminiaturespage.com/new/SEARCHTERM

Sometimes the results are different.

With a quota on each user's number of new threads per day, the problem might be solved. Those with profuse thread-starting habits would be less able to push other threads off of the front page…

sounds like a "page 2,3,4 etc" feature might be useful…

But when I suggest it my stifle-count goes up ;)

Since the quota is unpopular, just give me extra pages or a "last week" feature. I can't search a thread if I don't remember the title because I'm ancient.

My AAR, posted Friday afternoon, is already gone.

Yes, extra (or "more") pages, as for Hobby News, would be an option, too.
