Nice work, absolutely stunning,I have the same problem,I see a figure and then figure out what else I could use it for ,rather what it was intended for.Again great conversions. |

Chanzy..that's very nice I read that your "iconic" backppacks are from Secret Weapons Miniatures..and as i surfed on their web catalogue i noticed that they have nice conversion bits in stock (greatcoats/helmets/backpacs) that i could use for same kind of conversions you did..do you think they are compatible in size with the majority of historical miniatures (Foundry, Perry, Askari, OG)? PS: I'm a Fracophile too
Vive la France, les nanas francaises et le Camembert ! thanks |

Chanzy: Wanted to share a picture of this latest conversion. Franco-Prussian French Turcos with the iconic huge French backpack. Exactly what I have had in mind these recent months but had only seized on the Perry zouaves thus far. Your revelation on the packs, heads provided the final bits. Many thanks, I geev ze keeses to you on both cheeks. You have started my weekend perfectly Cheers, |

Ha ha ha, wonderful comments Cheriton & Italwars, thank you all so much! You certainly made my weekend too! I'm of to sculpt those last backpacks for the remaining 8 Turcos then, probably in a suitable haze of Boeuf Bourguignon and readily supplied in a decent bottle chambertin. Thanks for the Turco link by the way. Let me pay it forward by adding this link to the new museum outside Metz on the Battle of Gravelotte-St-Privat. It opens end of April! link |
