I am looking at build a unit or two of Philippine Scouts in 28mm. Anyone have suggestions as to what figures to use.
Thanks
Jim

25mm figures with over-sized weapons.

I can help you with 15mm. Pickings are really slim in 28mm. Good luck finding 28mm US In Brodie helmets carrying M-1 Garands I think there is a China Marine set out there, but they have Springfields. The PS Infantry regiments (45th and 57th and the 26th Cav) carried the Garand.

Sad fact, the Philippines are very much off the WWII gaming radar.

Sorry Brigade, that's not even close. They might work for Philippine Army on Bataan, but they still aren't even close. The Scouts were actually equipped just like other Regular Army units at the time.

In 54mm, I've used Armies in Plastic World War I American infantry painted as U.S. Army for the Philippines, 1941-1942.

You may be able to use some 28mm World War I American Doughboys as Philippine Scouts if you are not too much of a purist.

Maybe Old Glorys "Pershing in Mexico" line with a few head swaps from some WWI US figures.

Okay, forgive me for being a necromancer, but this article is too good to pass up. Here's how you can have some decent 28mm models for the Philippines. But you still don't have the M1917 Enfields for the Filipinos.

Two main allied forces in the Philippines: US Army (1 Division plus a Cavalry regiment and 2 Tank Battalions) which icludes the Philippine Scouts as they were Regular Army, equipped with M1 Garands; and the Philippine Army (12 divisions, not all fully manned or equipped) dresssed mostly in denim if I recall correctly, eqipped with Enfields /Springfields provided by the US forces.

I don't know if the US Marine regiment in the Philippines had the Garands or not.

Good intel Montford ! I had read/heard similar. And IIRC the USMC at that time in the PI has 03's not M1s.
