Hi guys, look what the postman brought, a nice cheap purchase of evil bay, $30 USD including postage, pretty bad paint job, but I will be stripping it anyway, some nice weapons, the flamer will go on a crisis suit, the big gun at the front will go on my second Titan/Mech, guess what I will do with the hull.

Nice. Always good to get a bargain.

Major score there. That TAU stuff is hella expensive.

Glad to see buys like this still happening.

It is getting tougher and tougher to find *real* bargains on eBay. One has to be very patient, doing constant searches to locate and wait them out (if auction and not BiN.)

Irks me when I see sellers posting up clearly substandard assemblies, incomplete models and/or atrocious paint jobs and asking 70% of retail for them.

It's like they are wasting everyone's time and cluttering up the site with spam nobody looks at or will read/consider.

Hell, I consider 70% of retail already far overpriced for brand new 40k stuff, why would I pay that for your dregs??

It's been some time now since I've found or made a similar discovery – good on ya!

Oh, Mardaddy, you're amongst friends. Tell us how you REALLY feel… ;->=

…guess what I will do with the hull.

Cover with rivets and use as Victorian Science Fiction Martian flyer?

Don't forget the radium guns!

Gunner,

I never did find the tau Sniper gun I mentioned in another thread. Sorry to get your hopes up.

Hi guys
It will be a 15mm Tau Dropship, I have my sites on another that I may bash with this to stretch it out and make it 4 engined, thinking of mounting the other 2engines at the end of the wings.
Hi Leidang – all good mate, I will have other options with the smaller weapons from this kit.

I've been looking through ebay for a lot of things and have spotted some of the TAU models there. Compared to what they go for full retail there are some real bargains. Quite a few will require a skilled modeler to disassemble and refit them but that's half the fun for me. I see some really poor modeling with a lot of them.

Hi TK – its painted better than mine, at least the black could be used as a pre shade undercoat, mine looks like it has 5 coats of paint.

I would recommend using a stripper made for model kits. It doesn't dissolve or craze the plastic and the paint comes off clean. Then again, if it is resin once you get the top coat off, a bit of household ammonia and water will work just fine.

Dan I can recommend Biostrip for all your metal/plastic/resin paint stripping needs.

The product I mentioned before is Polly S Easy Lift Off. I just found out it has been discontinued but Testors is now marketing it under their label. As I said before, it will remove finishes and decals from plastic, resin and metal without dissolving the plastics.

Great model.
