I may have squealed out loud looking at the pics.

Lovely stuff dude, nice one!

Don't suppose you would stick a link to the AAR on the Ironfist Publishing Facebook page?

Thanks! And just did (had to Google for the URL again *blush*). wink

Lovely pictures. The debussing one is superb.

How many books will I need to buy to cover the whole war?

Nice looking game – the part about the Tiger II running out of gas was very historic!

Ashenduke01 Apr 2014 9:36 a.m. PST

Wow great looking game. Interesting that you had to edit that photo.

normsmith01 Apr 2014 9:48 a.m. PST

Lovely – thank you.

"How many books will I need to buy to cover the whole war?"

Warwick and Piers have both said they'll do books until there are no more theaters and/or interest. There are three so far and Barbarossa is about to be released. After that is Blitzkrieg and then an early war desert one. I'm sure there will eventually be a mid-war desert and a Pacific book as well. Coverage of a number of other areas has been promised in their free online resource Dispatches.

OMG… omg… That's just lovely pics and report. Just lovely work. Everything is painted up just perfectly, and the JS-2, looks like a photo. Thanks for posting!!!

How many books will I need to buy to cover the whole war?
Well, so far there's Kursk, Normandy, Fall of the Reich, and Blitzkrieg. There's a gap between Normandy and FotR (called "Battle of the Bulge"), and I think there's a gap between Blitzkrieg and Kursk as well. Also, I don't think Blitz covers the fall of France.

But as far as the basics go, you need a $10 USD minirulebook and whatever theater lists you want to play. The theater lists are the expensive part.

You can fake the area between Normandy and the German border (where FotR picks up) with the Normandy allied lists, German lists from FotR, and the Normandy morale chits.

Thank you all for the nice comments! Really, really appreciated!

Regarding the number of books needed. Technically all of them. If you do not to care for the period specific extra rules or force compositions, you might get away with buying a few of the books to get the vehicles stats. FotR might work for anything late war and Barbarossa (which is due out next month… Contrary to what Lion said Blitzkrieg will only be released in the fall) for anything early war. But I think you are not saving much and I feel you get away with less and better value supplements then what you have for other rules systems out there these days. So far I have not regretted buying the complete package and will probably even buy the ones for North Africa when released one day, even though that setting does not interest me.

Lol… Hit submit too fast!

@fredrick: We both felt the same and so did someone on Martins running Facebook commentary! evil grin

@ashenduke: well that mini has a swastika on the armband and SS runes on his helmet. Both symbols are prohibited under German law. While the server for the blog is in the US and the blog runs over a US domain, I could still be prosecuted for publishing them since I am in Germany. I am allowed to have the mini, but not to display it in public. That is the way it is.

Lovely pics. What make are the German figures?

14th Brooklyn02 Apr 2014 10:23 p.m. PST

Thank you.

The dismounting Germans are by Warlord. All the rest are Victory Force Miniatures.

Thanks Brooklyn

The grey dots censoring the nazi emblems reminds me of seeing a film on dvd while living in Korea.

In Korea they are a tad prudish about genitalia. In one film we were treated to John Malkovitch in the altogether – his 'tackle' was clearly visible and the black dot [which was supposed to obscure the offending member] was mistakenly placed to cover Malkovitch's elbow, chest, a table lamp – anything but the item intended.

I think it's foolish to have to obscure nazi symbols – but it is the law so the blogger must comply or risk sanctions.

BTW – very nice looking game and report – thanks for posting.
