From Stratford, Ontario's recent Hot Lead convention…

Race to the Sea--Armentieres 1914
As the B.E.F. re-enters the line, a British platoon on the far left flank is ordered to advance up a small ridgeline, seize the high ground and turn the Germans' line. Of course, on the other side of the ridge is a German platoon on the far right flank of their army, with orders to….
Game begins with concealed deployment and initial moves. You only find out what's on the other side as you top the ridge. Will you have a chance to dig-in or will you blunder into a desperate melee with your opponent?

Wayne Kerr hosts this [1/72] WW1 platoon level skirmish, using Iron Ivan's Price of Glory rules.

Despite the later war figures being used what piqued my interest was a very interesting setup using not just a sheet across the table separating the opposite sides of the ridge from the players' sight but a sheet cut into sections so even getting to the top of the ridge didn't reveal all for one or both sides.

First photos in the slideshow show the gear and setup and some in-progress 'action' photos; and the remainder the whole game.
