I'm having a bit of a time tracking down low level TO&E information for foreign militaries. Is there a standard reference work that I am missing out on?

Right now, I am especially interested in Pakistan and India. I think I've got the infantry section info, but what about platoon HQ, number of sections per platoon, mortar teams, HMG teams, AT teams, etc?

Thank you,
Ed

Micromark army lists on Wargame Vault. Cheap and accurate. They have 100s if not 1000s including Modern India and Pakistan

Also try the Modern TO+E group on Yahoo. Not all Micromark lists get down to the squad level or lower.

Download WinSPMBT, for free, and you have accurate TO&E's (often from contributors who come from the countries in question).

The latest version 8, has numerous changes to TO&E's.

Thank you for the pointer to WinSPMBT, but it does not match other bits I have dug up and I'm hoping for a little bit more detail on the organizations. On the other hand, I may very well end up playing it with my friends.

Thank you again,
Ed

I picked up WinSPMBT yesterday. Thanks for the tip, Milites- I just need to sit down for a few hours and play out a scenario. The canned scenarios are huge and take a lot of time, and I can't quite figure out how to make artillery or CAS work right….

Click on a suitable HQ (the ones that allow the indirect fire box on the UI to be available). Then click on the indirect HE box

Then select the IF/CAS you require and the type of round HE/ICM/smoke (with the CAS you can select the platform and delete weapons you do not wish to use. Warning, the AI is bomb happy and will go for overkill).

Once you have selected the platform and weapons click on the map to target areas or point targets). Most HE will have the the HE icon as the centre of the CEP of the strike, and fire will scatter considerably if unspotted and unregistered.

Check the IF/CAS roster to see how long your request will take to arrive (done as fractions of or whole turn delays)

Sit back and wait. You do the same for UAV's or recon flights, where your plot recce orbits for the intel platforms. Don't though forget to cancel missions, I lost the best part of a mech infantry platoon because I forgot the A-10's were still hunting!!

You can adjust the fire (use the HE UI arrow button) which allows you to redirect the fire within a certain radius at a penalty to time of delivery.

Counter battery fire is available to units not offering support and can result in temporary or permanent removal of tubes, depending on the proficiency and technology available.

Some of the smaller scenarios are ideal for learning, or you can create your own set up quickly.

It does have limitations, especially with the IGOUGO system, but it's range, with scenarios ranging from parachuting Spetsnaz in 80's Afghanistan, to fighting future drug cartels is amazing.
