Saw this stuff today at Michael's and got to mess with it. I'm thinking it would be useful for various terrain that you could tear down and reuse. A sand table full of this stuff would be great. link Anybody used it for anything yet? |

There was a long thread about this here a while ago. It does seem interesting, but as I recall there were some drawbacks (although I can't remember what they were :) |

I think cost is the problem. To fill a 4x6 foot sand table to a depth of 3 inches means you need 6 cubic feet of material. One cubic foot of dry sand weighs approximately 110 pounds so you will need around 660 pounds of the stuff. At the price of $15 USD per 2 pound package that will set you back about $5,000. USD I'll pick some up, though. It looks like it would be perfect for making earthworks. |

Tested had a bit about the sand as well, it isn't really that good for anything you might touch because the solidity kind of evaporates with any kind of heat such as body heat. I also seem to remember a way to make some cheaply being around, but can't remember where
But normal sand works better for wargaming. |
