I was looking for a 15mm version of the Café Gondree of Pegasus Bridge fame. The closest I can find is a similar café from Total Battle Miniatures. It is close enough to use as a proxy: link Their stuff looks very nice. Has anyone used their stuff with other models? I have Musket Miniatures, Hovels Ltd., Tiger Terrain and some others. #1 – How does Total Battle match up to the list above? #2 – Do the buildings open up? (roofs off, etc.) |

Armaments in Miniatures makes a Cafe Gondree that looks excellent and it does open up for stand placement. It says To Be Released but I have seen it at conventions and it's a beautiful model. I'd say drop him a line and see if he'll sell you one, or when it'll be released. link |

buildings are one piece castings. I have a few of these buildings, although they look very nice when painted they did need some work on them. resin bubbles on windows and door corners needed a lot of cleaning up. not easy in hard resin. I haven't looked at purchasing any more. |

That's a real shame to hear about the poor quality of Total Battle Miniatures. I was looking at their 15mm Big Battalions, Black Powder Europe buildings and they looked perfect for Napoleonic games. :( |

Some of the 15mm are single piece, some aren't – the Eastern Front 15mm stuff (I know it's not applicable but it is what I've seen first hand) had a separate roof, so elements (they were scaled with FOW in mind) could be placed inside them. As to mould quality, I'm surprised to hear a complaint, I'd check with them direct on any issues they have with the age of their moulds? In fact the Retford show (their home ground) is on this Sunday, might see if I can get over and have a look see

Thanks Phil – I really am interested in hearing about their mould quality. And I'm interested in their east front buildings as well. I look forward to your report, Sir! Steve |

I have a whole heap of their buildings and fortifications and not once have I had cause for complaint about the casting quality. |

I own a number of their 20mm buildings and a lot of their 6mm stuff. It is all top notch, including the service. The 20mm buildings are sectional. So, your troops can enter and fight inside. I bought them painted. They are excellent quality. Once a chip was broken off, but a bit of glue fixed that. After all, they were shipped to the U.S. |

Like DKABD and Jurgen, I have a lot of their buildings from both the 15mm ranges and I've been nothing but impressed and pleased by the quality and the standard of customer service. I have always bought their buildings painted and have had them shipped to Canada. I think Miniature Realm must have got a bad batch. |

I have quite a few of their items and have always been very impressed with the casting quality. |

SDD (now Stronghold Miniatures) used to make a resin one in 15mm. Don't know if the moulds went elsewhere later |

nazrat- Thanks for the heads up on the AIM café. I talked to him a long ways back and the building was not yet in production. I just bought some of his Normandy beach bunkers about a week or two ago. I did not think to ask him again about the café. Truscot Trotter- Thanks for that link. I had seen these before but had forgotten about them. Thanks to everybody else for your input. As always, it is most appreciated. |

I've got several of their 10mm buildings and think they are lovely – really good detail, and they paint up quickly and effectively.
My mate has some of the 15mm ones, and he likes them too. |

All the pieces I've ever bought have been first rate. No problems with the quality of casting and the detail in the buildings is fantastic. |

I can't speak to the quality of the minis as mine haven't arrived yet, but their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Two weeks into my order, I hadn't received any type of notice as to the status of the order. No invoice, no shipping notice, nothing. So I sent them a perfectly polite email asking if they had shipped the order or not and got nothing but snark in return. Way overly defensive and put me right off ever ordering from them again. My email was perfectly polite, I was simply inquiring as to the status of the order, information most companies are happy to share. |
