That movie was like bottled happiness for me. Really must watch it again. Even the sight of these models put a smile on my face. If I ever get back to my Aeronef project, it's going to include small fighter/bomber aircraft that are a cross between the bug-winged ones from Castle in the Sky and the vanships from Last Exile. |

I was just thinking the first model looked a bit vanship. Course, the forewings, foreshortened in the first image, also look like clip-on shades. ;->= I'm rather taken by Terry Sofian's idea of using a model of WWI Albatross, half wings fore and aft, for an ornithopter. His was a 1/100 for 15mm, and I will take a 1/48 model for 28mm, but not entirely happy with the prow. May have a look for something similar to the above to graft on
