"Next week, of course, is the actual end of the line as season 4 draws to a close, but for now, a number of our survivors have found what appears to be an idyllic little hideaway in the middle of the zombie apocalypse. Along the way, they learned a lot about one another and one of the two big, important reunions of the season finally happened. Check out 19 highlights from the episode "Us," which aired on Sunday, March 23. Warning: Spoilers ahead! 1. Is Tara more or less doomed? In the non-zombie world, things like giving away one of her few, meager possessions (the coin, which Eugene tells her can be used to make a battery with household products) would be a bad sign. The fact that she asks Abraham, "What do you do when the mission is over?" and then won't discuss plans for the future beyond this mission with Eugene contribute, too. Sprinkle in the fact that she was ready to let the walkers take her before she ever joined Glenn, and you've got a season finale sacrifice waiting to happen. 2. ACTING! The cast of "The Walking Dead" often earns praise, but it's usually Andrew Lincoln and Melissa McBride who get most of it. Everybody in that cold open did a pretty great job of selling the fact that they were stunned; nobody in the group really believed that Glenn could find Maggie, and it showed. Glenn, meanwhile, had an expression so great that #feels started trending on Twitter

At the end of the previous week's episode, Beth was carried off by someone. No mention made at all of her this week. |
darthfozzywig | 25 Mar 2014 1:32 p.m. PST |
I'm guessing that Beth got caught by Tasha Yar and is a prisoner in Terminus. I also think Tasha Yar's bar-be-que shares a recipe ingredient with Soylent Green. |

Yeah that place was super creepy. Honestly I find the conflict that Daryl is in now and the fact that he'll eventually have to choose between his new group (the leader of which is coming across as more and more likable as they go along) and his old one when he inevitably comes across them again more compelling than the Terminus storyline. Still, I would be disappointed if they didn't trade the Governor for a worse evil in Terminus! :P |

Tara is not doomed. She is just so harmlessly useless that she will just bumble along and survive. The key to predicting next episode is that Rick looked terribly distraught, just like Carol was in the previews to last week's episode. So, someone far more important than Tara will kick the bucket. I think it will be Daryl in a heroic death. |

Maybe the idea is to bring the cast back to only those who are in the comics? |

Carol and Judith will not survive the episode. They will be taken out together. You saw it here first. |

There's still hope that Carl can get his just desserts, isn't there? One annoying teenager down (two episodes ago), one to go. |

I think Daryl is (dare I say it? say it, say it!) too liked among the viewing audience. He's the only character I hardly ever hear anyone complain about, and he has a big fan base among men and women. Is there anyone here who doesn't like Daryl? |
Space Monkey | 25 Mar 2014 9:57 p.m. PST |
Burning Maggie's picture seemed a bit ominous
but the suggestion of Carol and Judith going out together does resonate with the comics. Then again, that might make for a bit too much child death in too short of a time. Also, Carol has evolved into one of my favorite characters
so I hope not (I'll offer up Karl as a trade for whoever is on the official hit list). |

isn't the lady at the end of episode "US" wearing Beth's sweater? |

I think Beth is at Terminus. I think Terminus is some sort of Doomsday Cult, with brainwashing, all the bells and whistles. I think Daryl will live. If I had to pick a character or two to die, of the 'good guys', my bet is Bob or Sasha, or both. Tara or Rosita are other options. I don't see Maggie, Glen, Rick, Carl, Michonne, Carol, Judith, Tyrese, Eugene, or the Sergeant guy (forget his name at the moment) dying yet. I think the 'Claims' group is going to be trouble, too. Daryl will not stay with them, though, not against Baby Kick Ass and her family. Or Carol or Beth – who do you think he is going to wind up with? |

Oh, and Carl
GET BACK IN THE DAMNED HOUSE ALREADY! |
Space Monkey | 25 Mar 2014 10:34 p.m. PST |
Mary's sweater doesn't really match Beth's
I was just looking at an article that had comparison shots. The car that nabbed Beth had a cross in the back window and appeared to be from the funeral home
which might have been a trap ala 'The Hunters' from the comics. Personally, I couldn't care less if Beth ever turns up. I guess everyone would be bummed it the season finale does not feature any death or destruction and just end on a note of reunion and shared grieving |

Just watched it. Terminus is suspect.. NO guards, open unlocked gates, only one person around? Bonkers hippy/cultish/cannibals I reckon.
Honestly I find the conflict that Daryl is in now and the fact that he'll eventually have to choose between his new group (the leader of which is coming across as more and more likable as they go along) and his old one when he inevitably comes across them again more compelling than the Terminus storyline. This. |

But when the White Walkers reach Terminus, will the Daryl help the Nights Watch? Winter is coming! |
Ark3nubis | 26 Mar 2014 10:49 a.m. PST |
My guess is that Terminus is a trap for people generally. After The Walking Dead games by Tell tale (Series 1) and the comics with the Hunters I am guessing that they are cannibals of the weak. So if you get sick or injured, they secretly imprison that person(s) and gradually remove limbs to cook as fresh meat, only killing the person once they have to (to keep the meat fresher longer). Loners found and overpowered would also be captured and eaten (whereas groups would be hard to take down in one go)Tara is likely a target if her leg injuries (from the rocks in the tunnel) become infected or otherwise. I doubt Rosita will be taken out as her, Eugene and Abraham are a nice little character 'unit', although they did kill Dale and Andrea well out of turn, never mind their change of sequence with many of the other characters too. Joe and his band will likely put Daryl in the position to choose, although Daryl is a good guy and his original group has his loyalty and respect, and vice versa. Joe can't undo that. Joe is a dangerous SOB but they could put a twist in it that he helps Rick etc in the end against the group at Terminus. The burning of Maggie's photo was about them not needing to need it due to never being apart again, but I suppose that's your point, they are now more likely than ever now they have highlighted that point. Beth is likely at Terminus, captured and lined up to be eaten. It's 3 groups converging on one spot, and I favour Rick's group due to being larger, battle experienced and Joe's group don't know about Daryl really. Anyhoo, who will know, they are bound to leave loads open for S5 in October aren't they
Oh, and they won't kill Carl (Corwl). Not to be killed are Rick, Carl, Michonne, Glenn and Maggie, closely followed by Abraham, Rosita, definitely not Eugene, and Daryl. Beth, Sasha, Carol, Tyresse, Judith, Tara are all likely to go and used as fodder for the programme, although nothing is certain in this show TBH. I know they don't like killing children (small ones anyway) on TV so Judith may well be fine after all
and Carol is one of may favourites too
:) White Walkers? |

Good thread Ark3nubis! Totally agree. Amicalement Armand |
BuckeyeBob | 26 Mar 2014 12:10 p.m. PST |
Joe's group is hunting for the "man that killed one of our own and set him as a trap when he turned" for the rest of them. Only the one member actually saw that man (that man was Rick in the house they had entered. The house where he was alone while Michone and Carl went scavaging.) Since they don't know that Daryl is part of Rick's group, it will be interesting when they catch up to Rick at Terminus. Side point
I do like the way they kind of tied in the various groups story lines. For instance Daryl and Beth burning the house
and the next wk Carol and Tyreese noticing a fire and smoke in the distance. I thought the whole entering Terminus scene was creepy
.no one about except "Mary" by the BBQ. (Tho they didnt show it, I would hope the group reclosed all the gates they opened to get into the facility.) |

Joe points out to Daryl that one of the guys, Tony, saw Rick at the house. |
Doctor X | 26 Mar 2014 2:31 p.m. PST |
Its called Terminus for a reason
If it was full of people wouldn't that signal a pretty good size herd of zombies to always be hanging around? Unless the rest of the people who live there are out clearing the area of zombies. Hope the season finale does not disappont. Carol is my prime suspect to get her "walking" papers
|
Ark3nubis | 26 Mar 2014 10:10 p.m. PST |
Also another point is that when/if Rick meets back up with Glenn and the others, who's he going to recognise? Yup, yeah 'you with the ponytail, do you want this?
' Tara, the one that was running with the guv'ner just before giving poor old Hershie-bar the chop, and the one that Glenn lied to Maggie about (about where they met and who she was) so that's another thing to throw into the mix. After the effort and past episodes of Glenn chasing Maggie he may need that photo they burned after alll. Just another 2c
And yeah, I really hope the finale is 'all that' too. The recent episodes have been great for back story, building up characters and in-depth stuff but I really now want to sit back with pop corn and drown in some zombie apocalyptic TV |
Space Monkey | 29 Mar 2014 10:14 a.m. PST |
I think the setup for the finale is good
there's a whole lot of potential complications and strife and mystery to be reckoned with. Personally, I'd rather see Terminus as a new base of operations for a while
vs. crazy cannibal encampment that everyone has to run away from after a few episodes (after chowing down on some friends of course). Then again, I tend to keep wanting the show to turn into 70's era Survivors
have more about the logistics of building a viable post-apocalypse community
less Hobo Junction smackdown. |

SPOILER: Finally, Rick actually plans ahead (for once) and buries a duffel bag of weapons for later use. But he should have gone further and kept one person outside the gates at Terminus as a reserve until they knew for sure it was safe. Although, considering that Terminus snipers suddenly appeared outside the fence at the end, that might not have helped. Be interesting to see how they get out of this fine fix. Daryl could have ended the whole dramatic showdown with the thug group and Rick by "claiming" Rick. Instead, he took the hard way out. |
