I'm not a big fan of soft plastic figures. They are not easy to clean up the obvious mould lines. As the close ups show, the detail for want of a better description is very economical in important areas. Also, I've never really found a good primer for soft plastics, the paint always comes off, despite degreasing mould release agent & priming !
There are infinitely better moulded white metal figures & more recently hard plastic ones. Why manufacturers persist in producing a product of less than acceptable standard these days intrigues me.
If there is any positive points, Caesar & many other soft plastic producers do provide a very eclectic range of historical figures, but as for the quality…….

Hmmm…

Nice-looking set. I would say almost anything shot that close will suffer for detail!

I haven't painted these but I have a lot of other Caesar products, which I find are always excellent. The only word of warning is that the Krylon plastic primer reacts very badly with the Caesar plastic, causing them to stay forever sticky!

Normally I like Caesar, but the PPSh-41 looks horrible on all accounts. So do their other weapons. Definitely not up to their normal standards.

I never had this set during my 20mm days but I've never seen Caesar lack for details. Every box I ever bought from them painted amazingly. Besides, you could take two seconds with a pin to make the ppsh detail better or clean up the flash.
