Cool idea. If you want to post to that many boards it really belongs on "Wargaming in General" |

Great idea indeed. I used the same method to make crates for 1/72-76 dioramas. |

That looks really sharp. I tried that some time ago, but could never get a consistently square cut. In the end I cheated slightly by cutting squares slightly bigger than the cube and gluing to the top to form a sort of lid. That's what I did for the wet cardboard box on the far left in this picture:
Will you glue those stacks together for ease of placement and durability, or do you think you can get away with just stacking them up at random one at a time? |

I used wooden craft blocks to make crate stacks. link |

I used an X-acto miter box to cut those to make them square, I'm also going to make some a little longer like weapon crates of sorts, I do plan to glue them down in groups for better handling. @ Rothgar Those look really great hope mine turn out as well. |

I use the wooden greebles from hobby lobby/michaels a lot. perfect in 15mm and 28mm.

Also, if you get prescription medications, they sometimes come with a cylinder-shaped desiccant capsule that makes a very cool sci-fi barrel for both 28mm and 15mm. The ones I've seen (and which I've used for Space Hulk obstacles) have perforated ends in a latticework pattern that definitely has a sci-fi vibe about them.

@Kenohhc Those look great as well, I have checked out the local Micheals around here and they seem not to carry those, but they are working on bring in a new Hobby Lobby so fingers cross, in the mean time I'll have to keep plugging along until then. @javelin98 I wonder if there is someplace online to find those, Good thing is I'm very healthy, bad thing is I have no meds to take so Finding those online is my only other option. |

You might be able to buy them straight from a pharmacy. They probably buy in bulk and if you sweet talk them a bit might part with a few on the cheap. |

@Kenohhc I've seen most of the greebles in your photo at my Hobby Lobby/Michaels, but not the ones that look like pipe parts. I want those! Along with re-purposed containers for storage tanks, just think of the cool industrial scenery that could be made

@ TeknoMerk The pipe fittings are Hirst Art casting molds, you can buy the molds and cast as much as you want or need some other really nice stuff there too.. |
