Nice sculpts, altho' the faces seem to be screaming like ghouls!

No, not correct for the 19th century, sadly. The helmet pattern is a tad too late; the equipment looks early 20th century to me; all-round kilt aprons didn't come into use until after the first year of the Great War; and the figures are wearing plain hose tops with puttees, not diced hose tops with spats, also dating them to 1915 or later. I'd have to look up exactly when those Lee-Enfields came into issue, too.

Great for c. 1903-1937, tho, esp. on foreign service.

So, more for Interwar.
Many thanks for your guidance my friend. (smile).

The "the faces seem to be screaming like ghouls" is fairly accurate from all the Highlanders I met.
The rest of the kit, 3rd Afghan War at the earliest. Maybe.

"Screaming like ghouls," so typical Highlanders using their indoor voices. grin

You funny guys!

Those deep-set eyes just compound the effect, in these pictures at least.

Yeah, definite inter-war. Too many post-WWI details; I should not have written "c. 1903" above. That might be OK for the rifle or equipment, but not the rest of the kit.

Well they are supposed to be for the 3rd Afghan War after all…
