If you mean Los Angeles, then yeah, Brookhurst Hobbies. I are one of the major wargaming stores on the west coast & stock many of the overseas companies (Peter Pig's a big one). I went there once when my family was visiting Disneyland & I think I was able to catch a bus to a bus stop right near the store. If there's something specific you want, you might want to call ahead & see if they'll set it aside for you. Unless they've changed, it's not the best organized store, but the kind where you might find a treasure buried in the shelves. |

Brookhurst would top my (hobby shop) list were I to visit LA. Doug |

The War House in Long Beach used to have some things: thewarhousegames.com Sadly, The Last Grenadier had a long period of decline and is now closed. |

Yes Los Angeles. I had forgotten all about Brookhurst being out there |

If you're going to Brookhurst, save some time for one of the great little hole in the wall Asian and Middle Eastern restaurants in the area. Great lunch, but last time, the manager had to send out for someone who spoke English. |

If you're in Los Angeles and not behind the Orange Curtain, Aero Hobbies in Santa Monica is a great game store. For historical minis, there are lots of WWII (FOW and other brands), Warlord Games minis and a smattering of others. They're also running Sails of Glory naval battles on Wednesdays, or so I was told yesterday. |

I hesitate to ask
Orange Curtain? |

I figured that was it but I'm not familar enough with the counties to know if that's good or bad! |

Orange County is generally conservative and often referred to as being "Behind the Orange Curtain" from more liberal Los Angeles County. Don't forget, not only the War House, Brookhurst, but also Pegasus Hobbies in Montclair, and Arnies Trains in Westminster. Pegasus has an awesome selection of 1/72nd scale plastic figures and Brookhurst has a wonderful book selection in addition to general hobby stuff. Mike Bunkermeister Creek Bunker Talk blog |

I was there last fall. Brookhurst is a must stop, followed by War House and then Aero. Both Aero and War House have lots of dust (that's a good thing in my book). Vince |

Games empire in Pasadena is a great place. It's no Brookhurst in terms of stock, but cleaner, better organized, and closer to LA. |

Where in the LA area is Brookhurst? Can you give a reference point for the area? |
Blake Walker | 20 Mar 2014 5:42 p.m. PST |
It's in Garden Grove, CA. Blake |

As far as visiting Brookhurst is concerned, much will depend on exactly where you will be staying / working in the LA area. As others stated it is in Garden Grove on Brookhurst St, a couple of miles north of the 22 (Garden Grove Freeway) or south of the 5 (Golden State Freeway) in Orange County. If you are over by LAX it can be quite a trek to go to the OC. Brookhurst is a great store and worth visiting – but it can be a pain to get to OC from the LAX area or the San Fernando valley area. |
