"Black Sails TV Show" Topic

So I watched the first episode of Black Sails. For those that have watched it, is it worth watching the entire season. From what I have seen already, it feels very bland and not very interesting. Does it pickup or should I just move along?

If you didn't like the first episode you won't like the others.

I watched the whole thing and found it an enjoyable romp from the start, far better then the 2nd to 4th PotC movies.

Over all is wasn't bad for a made for TV pirate show. But since they decided to tack it onto Treasure Island I felt rather disappointed. Treasure Island was a book I read as a kid and have started to read with my kid. This show rates up there as a definite R rating. Not something to be shared with the youngin's.
I watched the whole season, if I have Starz when/if it comes back I would watch the next one. If I don't, its not something I would feel like i missed out on.

I watched the first few episodes and my interest waned with each one. The sets were great, the acting was good, but the story line was very predictable.

It's a pirate soap opera with tacked on R rated pirate porn.

I'm not necessarily saying that's it's a bad thing mind you…

The pirate "initiation" made me want to become a pirate… quit… become a pirate again… quit…ect.

For a pirate show, we spent a lot of time on land. We gave it three episodes and quit. Too little time for TV as it is an there are better shows to watch.

Now if you have Cinemax I strongly recommend Strike Back. Very good.

Not bad, not that good either. Could've been so much better.

I think the word "okay" best describes it.

It was okay. Not enough "Pirating" for my taste.

I'll try to watch a few more episodes. Maybe if there is more nudity I will feel inclined to watch more. Or just skip ahead. :)

Watched the whole season but only the last three had some good pirating and naval stuff. I really liked the use of the spring on the anchor in VIII. WAY too much politics in most of the shows. There is some good acting and attractive ladies however.

I almost made it through 2 episodes.

I've watched all the episodes so far but have consistently been let up a bit. I had high hopes but if I missed an episode I wouldn't make much effort to catch up.

Since DirecTv is having a free preview of Starz in a few days, looks like I will go download from OnDemand and see what all the excitement is all about. I've heard mixed reviews…we shall see.

It suffers from what I call "walking dead syndrome". Meaning both shows have a theme (pirates and zombies) but are more about drama and angst than theme.

Black Sails at least has sex and more importantly: lesbian sex!

I'm looking forward to the final sequel to this. The adult version of "treasure Island."

I watched the first episode, but it left me cold. The plot seemed scattershot, and it was trying WAY too hard to be 'edgy'. But points still for using the terms, "nao" & "urca".

I set the DVR to record the series, but have yet to watch a second. I'd rather re watch the "Pirates of the Caribbean" trilogy. There were only three of them, right?

I'll get my lesbian sex in a much better cable series, thank you. With grumpkins & snarks, to boot!

I've watched this from the get go and thought it was a quality show right from the beginning.Now the 4th and finale season will be coming on about a month from now and I know it will end on a quality note just as it started.
