What good software is available to create diagrams in rules? Preferable free and easy to use. Also I'm sure I remember a site where you can get top down drawings of ancient troops. Anyone know this site ? |

Battle Chronicler might work. It is already canned and ready to go. No need for graphics etc. battlechronicler.com VASSAL requires some work but you can import graphics as you like. vassalengine.org This is the option I use. I also test out rules using VASSAL. Also I'm sure I remember a site where you can get top down drawings of ancient troops. Anyone know this site ? If this is a non-commercial project (ie free) then JG figures are what you seek. If you intend on selling the product, you will need to get permission from the individual designers as well as the owner of JG. John |

Lots of good top-down images for many periods at Junior General --> link They also have terrain elements that you could include. |

Depends on the kind of diagrams. Uml could be a candidate. |

I've used Visio a fair bit professionally. There's quite a learning curve. If you are OK spending money then maybe take a look at Syncfusion's product. I think it's called essential diagram. That was recommended to me by someone. Never tried it but I think there's a free trial. MS word supports creation of basic diagrams. |
