Me too Steve I hate coming into threads like this you are always worried that you missed some thing juicy that all the cool kids know about! It's as bad as my high school days. Well I think its as bad it been so long since I was in high school my memories are a bit hazy.

They most probably said something obvious like, "Why do something that's so lame," you had an opportunity to do something different, not follow the rest on the bandwagon, (doing aircraft for FoW). Instead of 'perhaps a better idea' doing a box of WW2 fighter sets (or some space fighters for what its worth) or any thing else involving air warfair.
For goodness sake this is like beating a dead horse originality wise. I have commented negatively before on this release and have lamented how limited it is as well, (anyone who knows FoW knows these are aimed at that market) and all any one would need for there army in these rules, is a max of 3 aircraft.
IMO quite limited in scope. Here's an idea. How about. A boxed kit with 3 Zeros, 3 Wildcats all with bases and a set of tabletop rules in the box with cut outs of say, islands or aircraft carriers to defend,(similar to your Napolionic stuff with rules and counters as part of the box art.
Scale? Say 1/150 10mm even smaller? Maybe more aircraft or aircraft types, something that could move to other theaters, Battle of Britain, the war over Stalingrad, even bombing raids and protection over Germany. No you went with the safe bet. Gents where is the originality you had with you early stuff (yes you were the first to do descent Naps plastics in 28mm))
So maybe the 'deletes' were harsh words, but these planes kits are like reinventing the wheel, product wise.
Sorry, just as I see it and hoping it helps you to look at what could have been, and maybe what could still be. Sorry for the negativity but its a very so so product offering. Cheers and hoping that its a success even so.

As FoW aircraft were 1/144th not 1/100th how are Victrix how are they jumping on a band wagon? Now I am not going to buy these as all my air wargames models are in the much more practical 1/300th and 1/600th scales but lets be honest there are people out there that buy 1/100th scale so Steve obviously thinks these will sell. And lets not forget that is why he produces them. To sell, its a business.

Oh and no Tango I don't think he has ever posted a negative comment on anybodies work.

Agree with you scale wise Fatman, but still think a missed opportunity, all the air warfare stuff is mainly in metal, a chance to be ahead of the game would give Victrix a great boost. And agree about T1, he's a gentleman just wondering myself what he wanted to say about this product.

I'd definitely be game for a bunch of 1/100 aircraft used in North Africa, on all sides. Not just fighters or ground attack, either. Some of the transports would be great.

Oh, and I can't find anyone making an A36 Apache (aka P51 no-suffix, modified for dive bombing), in any gaming scale (only scale I've found is 1/48 or larger). So bonus points for an A36!

Am hoping they follow PSCs lead and release singles as 'reinforcement' units, with the pricing just announced 1 aircraft is s definite buy, but 1 and two spares for the price will send me to eBay to pick up someone else's unwanted extras….

Can someone PM Lion in the Stars to tell him about the AiM A36? He doesn't seem to have returned to this thread.

Lion in the Stars02 Apr 2014 10:02 a.m. PST

Ah, thanks Kyote and RMD!

That's weird, I could have sworn I'd looked at all the AIM minis and hadn't seen the A36!

Jemima Fawr02 Apr 2014 11:03 a.m. PST

Cool! As with all AiM's stuff, it's a bloody lovely model.
