OK. We had the buttons on the overalls for the Horse artillery. I could even accept buttons on the lapels for the foot gunners in 6mm, but now buttons on the cuffs! I said before, careless not to have painted the eagles onto each button……….

Brilliant

Now he is just showing off!

This is fraking amazing. What size brush do you use?

Larger gauge brushes, 1,0, 00 tend to keep a better point and need reloading less as they hold more paint so less need to find the right line again.
Nice work :o)

Hi guys

Thanks for the comments

Deadhead, I'm working on the eagles yet to a brush small enough !!

Brian, I use army painter brushes insane detail and the psycho see pics below I use these because the triangular handle shape is perfect for fine detail work and the brushes come to a good tip, I actually use the brush at a slight angle for buttons as this gives more control.

Always good to here from you Leon glad you like the pics

Easiest way to paint the eagle plate is just to 'flat brush' dry brush it. If its silver easier just to lightly scrape with scalpel after paint the shako.

Leon

Deadhead wants me paint the eagles on the buttons!! A challenge and a half but I will try on my own old guard wich I will being doing in the summer,
Might have to use magnification on that one wich is something I've never tried before.

Good tip for the eagle plate I havent tried dry-brushing on that before will try on the next battalion of young guard I usually just paint it directly

Cheers

If you do paint the eagle onto the buttons, just make sure the head is pointing the right way…….

I've just noticed…silver lace on the cuffs…in 6 mm scale!

You're 'aving a larf……..this is a wind up. It cannot be done. This is Photoshop, not painting…please tell me that. I am seized with feelings of 28mm inadequacy, otherwise.

Genius (but let's not admit that)

Perfect six16 Mar 2014 1:30 p.m. PST

Well you could always place an order to test your photoshop theory !!

The trick with small details Deadhead is to say to paint the cuff red or whatever and then bring the blue up to leave a narrow line of red rather than trying to paint a thin line of red. Painting is all about layers and sequencing, get it right and its easier, get it wrong as I have just done with some 15mm sci stuff and you go arghhhhhhhhhh! lol

OK, nice tip, indeed. Thanks.

But even so, now you "only" have red cuffs in 6mm…impressive enough. But then you have added silver lace edging……… arrrrrrrrrrrrgh……..with buttons..

Those look great! What kind of camera do you use?

By the way could you tell me what code are those on the adler site? I am looking for light infantry chasseurs with plumes and those look like they will do the trick.

Thanks Richard!

Are the uniforms pre 1812 or Bardin unfiroms? I am looking to use them for light infantry and grenadiers for some units.

You units look great!

Michael

These are late guard figures I don't think bardin regulations effected there uniforms that much but these have the more simplified uniforms the pre 1812 uniforms are listed in the price list as well , hope this helps a little I'm sure Leon could help you out on this.

Regards

Richard
