link This is a pretty intimidating video of North Korean troops preparing to bring destruction on the running dog capitalists of the South. Check out the ultra-modern weaponry and fish-tank plant camouflage. Also, at about the 1:50 mark, watch the trigger finger on the LMG in the foreground. Looks like no worky for the camera, and then a quick cut. Those guys are pro! |

I never had any doubt. Of course, SK makes the best barbecue. |

Good god, I don't think I saw ANY parkerization or bluing left on a single weapon in that video. Unless their plan is to use silver weapons against the evil capitalist werewolves of SK, of course. |

You really have to have sympathy for the poor sods in the NK Army. |

I like the first part where the soldiers are voting in the election for Kim Jong Un under the watchful eye of the party leaders. This helps explain why he got 100% of the vote in the last election. Those bright green camouflage leaves look like they came from the artificial flowers Department of Michael's craft store. |

How about that withering barrage of light machine gun fire? They must have shot 20 rounds!! If they don't have the bullets for a propaganda piece, how much ammo could they have? |

That's to show their contempt for their foes. Even such antiques can be used to overthrow the corrupt Americans! |

I looked, just because of the comments here. Anyone in a position to speculate on how old this video might actually be? Sure, we're denigrating the weapons, but this footage may be ten or twenty years old (okay, the weapons are still older than that). Not very scary of them to trot out an effort like this, when many of the (properly working) weapons on display are older than most of those soldiers' parents (in the case of the DPs (DPMs), maybe their grandparents). I notice they were in no hurry to waste their one live RPG rocket on a live fire demonstration. In fact, they seemed to be a bit reluctant to use much live ammo demonstrating at all

Taken out of context, this is part of the opening credits for the NK remake of " Dad's Army". |

My Korean is awfully rusty, but it sounded like they were showcasing home defense or militia forces, not the NKPA. |

North Korea is not a serious threat to America, no. But they would probably wipe the floor in a one on one fight with south Korea. In addition to their rusty old AK's, NK has a very modern tank force (and, yes, so very old tanks.) They have a great deal of modern tanks in service as well in addition to a MASSIVE amount of mothballed stuff. Edit: The best Korean BBQ I had lived over there was in Japan. The Korean BBQ places I went to in Pusan were actually sort of disappointing. |
