We are very pleased to release our latest 15mm sci fi cars, these being three gravs manufactured by KVM -- Kurasa Vectored Mobility.

picture

The KVM vehicles are grav-only and these were painted by the extremely talented Third Fate Creations. They include many sophisticated tromp l'oeil effects, particularly on the windscreens, but we think the lines of the models are still fairly clear.

picture

The Noriko is a widely used economy grav, very fuel efficient, as this particular vehicle, sporting a humorous leaf colour scheme, indicates!

picture

The Gazelle sports grav is regulated on many worlds because of its incredible speed, and is the grav of choice for law enforcement for that same reason.

picture

The massive Proton grav limo is used as a staff car by the Federal Army, by affluent citizens, and, notoriously, by the warlords of intergalactic criminal organisations, who see it as a status symbol.

The Gazelle shown above has the optional light strip attached to indicate it is a security vehicle -- this is provided for all three gravs and of course may be left off.

Wow! The painting is so incredible that anything I do will be a grav-turd by comparison.

Heinz Good Aryan13 Mar 2014 8:05 a.m. PST

grav-turds, i HATE those things……

1) kudos fro doing designs that look like cars normal people would be driving

2) those paint jobs are absolutely STUNNING!!!! I mean, like, holy crap…

Eli Arndt13 Mar 2014 8:15 a.m. PST

While the paint jobs are stunning I cannot help but feel I am not getting a good enough look at the model undeneath. Is there any chance we can see some oics of the models themselves or a less striking paint job.

Don't get me wrong I think they look cool and all but I also like to see the model I am getting as I can assure you I'll never paint to that level.

Thanks James, yes I think cars in most wargaming scenarios are mostly table clutter and unless everyone who lives in the region where you're fighting is an actor in The Fast and the Furious, you've got to have some humdrum street cars as well.

What he said.

Seriously, post a tutorial on how that was done. Airbrush and stencils? Whaaa?

Twoball Cane13 Mar 2014 9:21 a.m. PST

Darkest star and Khurasan…kudos orders coming soon for these….

The paint job especially the bottom pic is stunning

TK 42113 Mar 2014 9:48 a.m. PST

I agree, the bottom pic is an absolute knock out. The other ones are a bit too far out there though very skillfully done. Vehicles like these will definitely enhance any terrain table and in my opinion are long overdue. I'm glad to see more of them hitting the market.

Micropanzer13 Mar 2014 9:59 a.m. PST

These would look great with some converted splinter light 15mm animals converted to gangsters.

Will be getting some police cars for sure.

jpattern213 Mar 2014 10:23 a.m. PST

Awesome cars, jaw-dropping paint jobs. My hat's off.

khurasanminiatures13 Mar 2014 10:52 a.m. PST

I think the patterns on the Gazelle and Proton are very realistic whilst being very futuristic. The leaf pattern on the Noriko is a bit more fanciful but cars like that, meant to amuse and/or advertise, can be seen on the streets now and then:

So much stuff I need to buy. Truly outstanding!!!

Heinz Good Aryan13 Mar 2014 11:37 a.m. PST

where would the light strip go on the little car???

BlackWidowPilot Fezian13 Mar 2014 11:48 a.m. PST

Very nice. Between these, Darkest Star's latest civilian car set, and Combat Wombat's hover buses, there's a full downtown rush hour's worth of traffic for the 15mm sci fi urban combat environment. Very cool.evil grin

1/100 scale magazines -- the wave of the future! grin

Atropos90713 Mar 2014 10:00 p.m. PST

1/100 scale grav hot rod mags… that sounds like a challenge!

Wait…I dont know if I can paint quite that small. a 0.11" tall magazine…

corporalpat14 Mar 2014 3:25 a.m. PST

Hope you got plenty of those in stock Jon cause they are gonna go fast!

I can already see you adding subtle skin shading to the girls in the magazine of course….

Heinz Good Aryan14 Mar 2014 5:30 a.m. PST

i like that they don't look clunky but also don't look like spaceships…..

John Treadaway14 Mar 2014 5:58 a.m. PST

Exactly what Eli said, I'm afraid. I love seing a good paint job but – in this case – I all I can see is the paint: I can't see the models.

Klaus, I think you can just put the light strip on the rear roof of the Nori and paint is as solid rather than a sunroof.

Heinz Good Aryan14 Mar 2014 8:06 a.m. PST

klaus??? klaus??? :-)

i can see the design of the cars under the paint but i have to agree that the painter seemed set on showing off his mad skills instead of showing off the cars, lol

Renders of the sculpts are at Coolhand's blog.

Best,
JBR

khurasanminiatures14 Mar 2014 9:05 a.m. PST

I should note that I did not display the renders because I resized the limo to make it larger, so the renders do not reflect the size of the cars in comparison with each other. They do however show the shapes.

Atropos90714 Mar 2014 11:51 a.m. PST

This one shows a size comparison.
