You might have missed that Frog God Games has released the full free version of their Swords & Wizardry RPG.

For those not in the loop it is a cleaned up version of the original "White box" d&d from the 70's!

Boy is it awesome. None of these dense multi page character sheets with a hundred skills. It's back to Magic Users with 1d4 hp at start and a spell. maybe 2.

And it is so delicious.

Getting the Reaper Bones set painted up really has me enthused.

I am looking at their Mega Dungeon "Rappan Athuk" and starting a campaign. Start at level one. End at Level 20.

Awww Yeah.

Yeah, Swords & Wizardry is one of my favorite 'retroclones' of D&D. Loads of new adventures have come out for it as well as stuff for other clones like Lamentations of the Flame Princess and Labyrinth Lord that can also be used with it… and, of course, all the original TSR D&D modules.
It's fast and fun, really easy to pick up and go.

Your preaching to the choir man! White box, IMHO, is the way to go when you want a fast moving game. I thought it was always a free PDF? Or was that only while it was in development? I knew you could get the print book for a few dollars.

That was the Core rules. This is the whole full book.

Just Dl'd it and realized exactly what it was. Very very nice product! Caters to both the old schoolers who like many charts and tables for combat and those who would rather add a few numbers together to figure out a to-hit roll.

Thanks for posting the link!

I think we broke their download limit or cart:

Notice: Undefined index: widgets in socialmedia_tokens() (line 144 of /home4/froggodg/public_html/sites/all/modules/socialmedia/socialmedia.tokens.inc).

When I get the confirmation email it denies me access to the file. Anyone willing to email me a copy to:

meustrader at hotmail dot com

…please?

I'll fire you over a copy. hold tight.

Just sent it.

I think we broke their download limit or cart:

I got an e-mail from them with a DL link because of the errors after the transaction. I'd be more worried if I actually supplied Credit Card info. As it was, it was a freebie. So no harm.
