Hi guys, just an update with some more conversion work, have added some heavy weapons, Tau rifles, antenna, not sure about the stealth suits, I feel they are to top heavy, some questions
1) should I add the antenna to the backs of every trooper? Or just commanders?
2) do the stealth suits pass muster?
3) is there anything else I can do to these to make them even more Tau like?

More pics at my blog, all C&C welcome

I agree on the stealth suits. A bit top heavy. Everything else is looking pretty good so far.

Look great and in 15mm I would only have antennas on commanders

The stealth suits do look a touch top heavy

Not so much "top heavy" as "chibi" to be honest. But the sculpting is good so no complaints there.

XV25 Stealth Suits *are* rather top-heavy:

I much prefer the old XV15 suits:

They are really cool. Like them a lot. Really like what you have done.
When will somebody make a "not Tau" in 15mm to sell. I feel there would be a lot of people happy to buy them. There are lots of other bits in 6mm and 15mm in the "not" category. They are far enough away from Tau to be "not Tau" but give the flavour we seek. I said this once before and people jump on me with the "Oh you want to steal someone's IP". So before anyone starts. Take a look at all the dozens of space marine and space orc "not's" out there not to mention all the film and TV related stuff. I would so love to see these or something like them as Tau proxies in 15mm. Sorry rant over.

It might be that Star Wars, predator, aliens ip etc seems to less 'patrolled' and Ip laws seem to be dismissed, however you will have zero chance with GW!

Actually he is fine, there was just a huge lawsuit against some company filed by GW and they lost on most accounts. Unless it is the actual piece recast, "nots" and "aftermarkets" are legal and not covered by IP. So they can look A LOT like Tau, so long as they are not the actual GW product recast.

Thanks guys

Yeah XV15s are good, but at 15mm they are to like fire warriors.

They will still go after you and make your life a pain

Very cool…May I ask what figure you used as a base model? The stealth suits are not so much top heavy but mayby "beef" up the legs some…Tau skip leg day at the gym…

I like the stealth suits the way you've got them. Slightly exaggerated but more recognisable for it.

Thanks guys

Hi Stepman, the original figs are CMGs Ygs, they can be found in their mercenary list, they come in packs of 6 with 5 poses, I have asked them if they will be expanding this race, and was answered maybe, but it's far down on the list, but that was a while ago.
