I just purchased two packs of Battlefront US 753 Armoured Rifle Platoon (winter). What Vallejo Model Colours is used on the long coat? Items like like helmets, rifles, and webbing would no doubt be the same as summer equipment, but the long winter coat is fairly distinctly colored. In addition I can see some GI's acquiring white bedsheets, looting German winter smocks or using other artcles of white clothing to supplement their otherwise nonexisting winter camo. Anyhoo salut y'all.

I suppose the US Armored Rifle Infantry wore the same greatcoat as US Paras and Glider Infantry.

In the BF book "Nuts" the painting guide for the US Paras and Glider Infantry's greatcoat is:
Vallejo US Field Drab (873).

Field Drab is what I use.

Another vote for Field Drab the Vallejo one is a near perfect shade for 15mm.

As the Bulge started to be reduced you did see men wearing sheets tied over them like smocks. Wearing of German gear was occasionally done but could of course be dangerous. BTW as a fellow Texan you have to know that we call it "gear", it's the Brits that call it "kit".

I used 826 instead of field drab as recommended by a friend who collects original wwII uniforms. 826 is more brown then field drab which is closer to the original color. Not always does battlefront get there colors right is is always good to research first.

The overcoat was the same color as the wool pants.

"The overcoat was the same color as the wool pants."

I've got orginals of both and they are the same color – kinda brown really.

I'll try 826 as "field drab" is a bit too green.

880 Khaki Grey is pretty close, I think.
