on your blog you say
"I learned to become a very effective painter, able to paint at a fast pace while keeping a level of quality I'm very pleased with."

i'd love to see a tutorial on your technique , i can't see how you can paint fast AND get those results . very nice painting !

Not much of a secret there, ernieR.

It's basically about painting your miniatures on a "fordian" assembly line: paint all the similar parts of all models in a row.

For instance, paint the white on everyone, then the blue then the wash, then the gold.

Don't make a single complete miniature at a time, this is way too much time consuming.

Also, set aside at least a few minutes to painting every evening. Painting even a little bit everyday is more productive that occasional outbursts of painting frenzy followed by long periods of inactivity.

yeah, i do the same thing, on 8 figures at a time. i learned to paint that way.

i have found that people who didn't learn to paint that way have a hard time switching over though. I've tried to teach a few friends and none of them were ever really able to speed up their painting.

Mateus thanks for the advice !

i'm already doing the assembly line painting method , it's the quality i haven't yet mastered :)
WWII and modern i'm doing ok , Napoleonics (in 15mm or 28mm) are defeating all my efforts to produce a decent pair of white pants . any help there ?

Hi, ernieR.

Andrea (manufacturer of 54mm and larger collector figures)has a line of paints and offers a White Paint Set in acrylics which I've used to get excellent results. They also make a Red and a Black set as well. I haven't tried those.
