I've created a new website and forum to promote and discuss some wargames rules I have written or are under development.
I'll be posting more about the rules on the specific boards, but I'd be interested in any general feedback on the website.

Gray?

morrigan07 Mar 2014 6:15 p.m. PST

White on Grey at the top is hard to read. Need to break the text up in the explanation sections up – at least a space between paragraphs.

I actually like the look of your Warband rules. I got them quite some time ago and will be joining your forum.

Nope.

Still gray.

Is that whay you call feedback charared? What is your problem?

Looks interesting but, as morrigan has suggested, you might want to play around with the font and background colours until you get something that's fairly easy-read.

I actually found it ok but it's something some people struggle with (as is giving helpful feedback apparently…)

Good luck with the project!

charared, I apologise for not staying up all through the night to respond to your comments and fix any problems immediately. I'll try to do better next time.

Marshal Mark08 Mar 2014 4:18 a.m. PST

morrigan, thanks for the feedback. I've spaced out the text by adding space between paragraphs, although I couldn't do so on one page because I seem to be at the limit for page size.
Is the white on grey problem referring to the coloured boxes at the top ? These are links to pages on the website. On my laptop and tablet they appear as coloured boxes with white text, and there is no problem reading them. However, on my home pc (which is old and doesn't work very well) the text appears in light grey boxes. I thought this was just an issue with my pc, but is this what you are seeing ? The links are repeated on the home page anyway, so you can navigate the site anyway, but I'll look into the problem. I haven't done anything to change those boxes at the top, as they came on the proforma website.

I think I've fixed it now.

You may wish to check the grammar on the Forum introduction, especially the use of the word "less" before "advertisements" (should be "fewer") and the next sentence is a bit heavy on commas.
I don't have a problem with the colours, can read it OK on an iPad.
Good luck with the site and the forum; "command and control" seems to be increasingly popular, so you may find reasonable take up for your rule sets.

morrigan08 Mar 2014 12:36 p.m. PST

Much better! :)

Marshal Mark08 Mar 2014 12:40 p.m. PST

Quite shocked to see my grammar being questioned, as it's something I pride myself on. I'm pleased to say it's not me at fault though. The sentences referred to are nothing to do with me – they are from the freeforums website that I use to host my forum.
