"Medieval sailors and rowing vikings in 28mm" Topic

I recently got me two ships for usage in my RPG, and now need to crew them, both for 28mm.

I need rowing vikings for my Revell longship, and a crew of sailors or other seaman for the slightly modified Zvezda cog (I know its meant for 20mm, but works near perfect for 28mm).

I plan to use Conquest normans, WF celts and GB/WF Saxons as a base for the crewing the cog, and GB/WF viking sets for the longship.

I am, however, interested in any input on available other minis (plastic, metal or resin) for the venture, especially any idea how to make 32 rowing vikings who bring their own chest.

I believe Gripping Beat and Old Glory have some available. Not sure if Scheltrum do any or not?

I'm sure I've seen suitable stuff of scheltrum.co.uk manning their ships at a show but plowing through their catalogue I don't see anything. It might be worth asking them.

First glance:

Scheltrum and Gripping Beast seems to have no crews. Especially GB makes fine minis (I do own their plastic set) and my hope is still up that I just missed it on the first run.

Old Glory sells some crew with their ship, though not seperately. I am not fully sure on their quality yet, but I will investigate and probably mail them on it.

Barony has a nice little set of medieval crew:

Cog Crew
Captain, Lookout, Sailor with Grappling Hook, Sailor with Boat Hook, Sailor with open hand with coiled rope and knife, and Anchor for cog
