So. Lots of reading and I am coming down in favour of vallejo 882 middlestone or 978 fark yellow. What do others think. In this picture link I have painted the left dark yelloe and the right middlestone. Or is there a third way? Leigh |

I'm guessing this is for German armor? If so, and if you're airbrushing, Tamiya dark yellow then cut with a little white seems to me to be the way to go. |

I really dont get on with tamiya paints. Am I missing a trick with them when using my airbrush? |

Really? I'm a little surprised by that. That's the only thing that doesn't foul my airbrush dependably. I generally cut them to about 60/40 or 50/50 paint thinner. I use the Tamiya thinner. |

You need to use Tamiya thinners too, if you use their paint, since it's made to match it. Drybrushing, and/or spraying with a dust color should tone down the paint considerably as well. |

I spray with Tamiya paints all the time, and use 91% Rubbing Alcohol as a thinner. Works a charm. damon. |

Tamiya, you can use their thinners (including the lacquer thinner they sell) or just alcohol from your medicine cabinet. They are about the best airbrush paints I've ever used, but do not use water to thin, or brush to apply (they streak). |

I think Cel Vinyl's Tan takes a lot of beating for that colour. |

Apply Krylon Untraflat Camo Tan spray paint avail at Walmart or Home Depot. Wash with favorite ink, thinned to taste. Drybrush with Valleo or other. I use that Valleo plain and Delta Ceramacoat cut with water conditioner from Liquitex. Do the drybrush with a big brush like a blush applicator. Once the base color is built, apply your other colors of camo. Then pick out all the add ons and pick out all the little highlights. Use pewter colored high quality art pencil for chips in paint. If you finish with Mig pigment powders; Cut thin with water. Paint on liberally, tracks under belly, front slope, track guards and the splash point on turret. Once dry simply rub/dust areas you want with less dust, with it with a q-tip. Avoila. |

Cannot see a picture from that link but I do not like either of those colours for Dunkle. I use 80% Green Ochre, 15% Middlestone and 5% Buff then spray – all VJ or just by the Warpainter Green Ochre Spray can if you can find it – I think it was called Italian Armor |

Using the Krylon as a base, what are the steps to build up the color using vallejo paints? Starting with Middlestone and than what? |
