Hey, I was thinking of possibly using some of the 1/144 Gundam mechs for 15mm sci-fi
..they are cheap, and there's a huge variety of them. would they be too small, though? |

15mm is around 1/100 scale, so yes too small. But they would work well for 10mm. However, if you are not going to specifically play in the Gundam universe, I could see them working for 15mm (other than the fact that they look very distinctive to me, for the most part, for generic gaming

Well, it depends on what you want. If you want them as Gundams, they are too small. You would want 1/100 scale for 15mm or 1/144 for 10mm or 12mm If you want them for something OTHER than Gundam Scale, then yes they are fine because Gundams/Zakus are BIG. |

Take care, a lot of them use bendy plastic |

I mean, DAMN, in my imagination, I saw them as power armor. [qoute]Take care, a lot of them use bendy plastic[/qoute] yeah, I would kind of expect that at most of their prices

The 1/144 model kits use hard polystyrene, but there are smaller "gasshapon" (capsule toy) models that are bendy plastic. A 1/144 Gundam model kit is ~6" tall. Gundams are HYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE. |

Yeah
.I'm not sure how I could balance those giant assault rifles, lol. |

1/144 scale Destroids from Robotech/Macross could work, but not sure if anyone does them. |

hobbylink japan has 1/100 scale Tomahawk/Warhammer and Officer's Pod/Marauder that go in and out of stock depending on whether I want to order them or not. Rich |

I was going to say
all the giant robot stuff at the local hobby store is listed as 1/100 and the boxes are huge. I have a couple of the 1/100 scale models from Gundam 00, and they're about 12" tall, ~30m tall to-scale. The thing is, Bandai likes all their models about that big, so smaller mecha like from Gasaraki (~4m tall, give or take 0.5m) are 1/35 scale or even 1/20 scale. So I'd look at getting the 1/144 scale Gundam models (or Gasshappon, which are even smaller), and "lie" about how big the models are "really". I have a 1/144 scale RX78 Gundam (the classic type), it's 5-6" tall. Now, the 1/100 scale Macross/Robotech bots are a better size, ~5" tall for the destroids and the Glaug/Marauder is ~7" tall, but they're hard to come by. |
