"BAE Systems has delivered the first upgraded CV9030 tracked armoured infantry fighting vehicle to the Norwegian army. The new vehicle fleet has significantly enhanced protection, survivability, situational awareness and interoperability, incorporating lessons learned from Norwegian, Swedish and Danish operations in Afghanistan with CV90. The vehicles will run on the latest rubber tracks, combat-proven by Norwegian forces in Afghanistan. The CV90 Norway project will deliver a fully-digitised flexible fleet of 74 infantry fighting, 21 reconnaissance, 15 command, 16 engineering, 16 multi-role and two driver training vehicles. The multi-role vehicles can fulfill different functions, including mortar carrier and logistics roles. Deliveries of the production vehicles start in January 2015 and continue to 2017

I knew a blonde Norwegian once. Tiny little thing. Said they do something called "hell week", a sort of national service. She loved firing the MG3, which was almost as long as she was tall. |

Well it's odd that the two crewmen with helmets have their faces blurred while the third has the head both uncovered and unblurred. Hard to tell due to the low quality of the photo but it may be a case of a new head being photoshopped onto the body of number 3. IIRC the Norwegian armed forces have female soldiers and officers serving in the combat armsand since last year military service is compulsory for women as well. (All men and women have to muster and be tested for service but in practice only volunteers end up serving if I have understood the way the Norwegian system works currently) |

Hmm. 120mm gun on the CV90-120. Very interesting considering a top speed of 70 kph. WEight at 22,800 kg, or 22.8 metric tons. Fast-mover with a long spout on a tracked chassis. Light enough to ship and able to take cage armour. Darn interesting armored platform. |

The CV90-120 is about what the US had in mind for the old Future Combat System 'tank'. 120mm gun on a 20-ton chassis small enough to fit into a C130, mostly relying on Quick Kill and other active defenses instead of heavy armor plating. And yes, the CV90 is one badass family of vehicles. |

Wasn't there a possibility the British Army might get some of these? They're very impressive. |

For those of us having difficulty with decals, that Norwegian flag insignia doesn't look quite straight

"My eyes are getting old. There is a blonde lady in the top of the tank?" The beard says, "No." I think that they're just not cutting their hair in the field. Everybody likes the cool "Special Forces" look. |

Everybody likes the cool "Special Forces" look. Right up until they achieve that "killed by nerve agents because their gas mask wouldn't seal" look. |

Slap some Javelins on the side and I think we'd have an excellent Bradley replacement. |
