The dark steel looks more like a dirty turqouis. |
Only Warlock | 26 Feb 2014 7:50 a.m. PST |
Definitely not green. In the show they were always Dark Metallic Blue/Grey. |

What are you using for Chigs. I used to love the show. I have the DVD collection. Now I'm gonna have to pull it out and go through the whole thing. 8) |
AVAMANGO | 26 Feb 2014 8:14 a.m. PST |
I would go with the dark steel with a heavy black wash, to me the Chigs wore black armour. |
TheRatGod | 26 Feb 2014 8:18 a.m. PST |
i think the darker color will be the best. |
Irish Marine | 26 Feb 2014 8:20 a.m. PST |
It looks like greenish bronze color. link |
Irish Marine | 26 Feb 2014 8:22 a.m. PST |
Check this out never knew they made this. link |
Insomniac | 26 Feb 2014 8:31 a.m. PST |
1/72nd scale kit here: link I think the bronze/green would be better than that bright green shown in the first post
but if I was doing it, I'd go for a very dark metallic grey/gunmetal. |
Heinz Good Aryan | 26 Feb 2014 8:33 a.m. PST |
looks more like steel to me

Maybe Leaders have different armor? |
Lion in the Stars | 26 Feb 2014 9:00 a.m. PST |
Metallic Green with a heavy black wash. |
Cacique Caribe | 26 Feb 2014 9:00 a.m. PST |
Very dark metallic dark bluish-green "gunmetal" with a darker (black) wash over it. Similar to xenomorphs in fact, though without the wet look. Dan |

'Maybe Leaders have different armor?' think their armor is the same color, just the panel thingies are different
|
Cacique Caribe | 26 Feb 2014 9:41 a.m. PST |
Those identity "panel thingies" on the chest hook piece are also some sort of personnel tracking/locator beacons.
link The picture posted by Heinz Good Aryan, with red Duck Tape over multiple removable identity plates, seems to be that of a peace ambassador: link YouTube link The basic Chig seemed to have just one marking plate – over the hook piece (here covered with blue tape): link Check out all the other props from the show: link Dan |

I would probably paint them dark steel. Green is a bit more
.alien looking, and would be a great in a jungle war, but I dont know if they are the kind of aliens for space Nam. |
Cacique Caribe | 26 Feb 2014 10:09 a.m. PST |
LOL. But Space Nam is what the Chigs seem to prefer though. That's what their Sacred Moon looks like. YouTube link Dan |

I think I'll do regular troops Green and leaders a different color or give them colored arm bands. |
Heinz Good Aryan | 26 Feb 2014 12:03 p.m. PST |
my guess would be for the emissary chigg guy they took one of the prop suits and messed with it. i doubt they repainted the whole thing

HGA, Did you watch the clip of the second to final episode of the series, which has the Ambassador at the end? Or you can look at the first few minutes here, in the very last episode of the series: YouTube link Dan |

Not cannon, but a metallic purple would also work. |

Steel grey with perhaps a tinge of green. Alternate colors for the officers. So, when are these being released? |
