Cracker Line ( crackerlineminis.com ) is one of the newer companies producing 10mm ACW figures, but I've been very pleased both with the quality of the figures, their scaling ( on the "small" end of the 10mm spectrum ) , and their relatively quick rate of expansion, especially now that they have acquired the compatible Starfort range. In particular, I was very happy to see the line focus on dynamic posing of the "right shoulder shift" pose, both a fine pose for gaming and the most common of the war, yet somehow often neglected. There are very nice photos of painted miniatures on the site, but I thought I would post some photos in "bare metal" to give people an idea of the quality of the sculpts ( in "10mmWorld" style for those that remember my old site ) . What follows ( hopefully ) are photos of figures in sack coat, shell jacket, and finally frock coat.

Cheers,

Christopher

Any hints on why I couldn't get the images to display would be appreciated! Is it because of the DropBox format?

I'm not familiar with dropbox. I use Picasaweb. And you simply paste the image url here and the pic shows up.

Those are really nice close ups. I wish every miniature had close ups like that. Thank you!

Now if I only didn't have several years invested in a 15mm Civil War project…. Oh well. Bill is a great guy, has great figures, and puts on a wonderful game with great terrain.

If I were starting from scratch, I would use Bill's figures. BT Sherman's blog makes for good inspiration!

I just started buying and painting Cracker Line miniatures last month. I must say, they paint up very nicely. I also like the variety of poses in each code.

Likely it is because you are doing it through https ( encrypted ) and not text http ( clear text ) .

Also, you might need to wrap the line in an <img></img> tag. I think jpgs are recognized by TMP automatically so maybe not.

EDIT using the http tag, dropbox redirects you to https. So it may not be a viable option for photos if you want to display them in a post.

When I place the link as http ( not https ) TMP recognizes the link as a picture but can't render it because of the redirect to https.

These figures have a look of 'Warrior Minitures' about them.

Look like they would be suitable to a more 'simplistic' wargames standard of painting (not too much detail) and would look gooden mass..

Ian I disagree, you do realize that these figures are 10mm figures with a ton of variety? They are proportioned quite well and are quite detailed for 10mm figures.

I would put the detail in my 10mm line up against any on the market for ACW and they would compare very favorably. I am not saying anything bad about any other line but mine are excellently detailed. The greatcoats on my figure have buttons visable……on the capes! My sculptor is very talented.
