Like the post states I am looking for 28mm Sailor figures. Either late 19th or early 20th Century. I want figures that would represent German sailors at that time. I also want British, American, and perhaps Belgian. It would be good to have figures that are suitable for being placed working a gun or a Gatling type weapon. Shore parties are also a want. I am familiar with the Perry and Copplestone British Sailor figures and I think Eureka makes some generic looking sailor figures that are firing deck guns. I am not sure if there is much difference in the attire that sailors of differing countries wore during this period. Oh and of course I need officer figures both commissioned and NCOs.

Thanks,

Kim

Askari miniatures makes german sailors in pith helmet and soft cap.I believe Foundry also makes German officers for the period and british sailors.Old glory I believe also emake sailors in their boxer rebellion range.

Sailor uniforms in this period were generally fairly similar (there were some headgear differences, though), so if you find one set you like, you could just do a modified paint job and make them whatever nation you wanted.

I had forgotten about the Brigade WW I in Africa figures they are perfect. Also the recommendation from Katzbalger about Old Glory in the Boxer Rebellion range are very nice and are part of what I am looking for. Thanks gents!

I seem to remember someone posted German sailors from Tsuba Miniatures just recently, for use in post-WW1 Germany.

Oh man those are nice! My only concern with Redoubt is the last time I ordered some of their figures for the ECW it was clear the molds were deteriorating. I have read similar complaints about their ACW line which was one of their best lines. Regardless, I think I will order some of these figures and they have casualty figures!

I've got their French sailors in my FPW army -great figs with no moulding defects.

link – Redoubt and Foundry and indeed one bloke is a bit of both!
If you take the pom pom off they'd look like the German version but I guess the best fit would be the Austrian ones.

Now without your thread I wouldn't have thought of this and I need some German sailors too.
Thanks very much!
