Following a tip on LAF, I picked up Pulp Alley to adapt to cyberpunk skirmishes. We played our first game last night, working out the core mechanics of combat, Fortune cards, Perils, and Plot Points. Part 1: stalker7.wordpress.com/2014/02/18/nk69-seraph-protocol
Part 2: stalker7.wordpress.com/2014/02/19/deadly-shadows-in-guangzhou
First Impression: While I misunderstood a couple points, the character creation is excellent, the simultaneous combat straightforward and effective, the rules system very robust and reliable. Sure, things are abstracted and cinematic. If detail and realism are your thing, this isn't for you, but if you want to play quick, fun games with a handful of your interesting character figs, this is a sure winner. We're definitely playing this again. And again. |

Cool looking game. I've been enjoying Pulp Alley for scifi to although in my case it is in fact pulp scifi:-)) I agree it is a very versatile and sturdy system. Be sure to post the rest of your campaign, I look forward to reading more of your AAR's. |
