Here are the first pictures of the dollies for our upcoming Great Northern war Swedish army range of 28mm figures.
The range is being sculpted by the very talented Paul Hicks and will cover all arms of the Swedish army.
The arms are cast loose to allow different poses for the storming party Paul has just attached them to illustrate how they will look.

Paul has done a great job of injecting the aggressive movement the Swedes were known and feared for.

hope you like them

Will these heads also be sold separately on sprues as with the "French" heads?

Cheers,

Very nice indeed – love the animation! Loose arms are a great idea, however the sword should always be held in the right hand, since the scabbard is on the left.

Awesome – can't wait.

On sword hand, I would go with generally rather than always. After all, he could be a leftie ;-)

Chokidar20 Feb 2014 2:58 a.m. PST

Or a Kerr … or just switched hands for convenience since drawing the damned thing…

Musketier20 Feb 2014 6:46 a.m. PST

Somehow I doubt that lefties were much tolerated in the 17th C. – sign of the Devil and all that – and certainly not in close-order army drill. We live in more enlightened times…

Changing hands after drawing is a possibility I suppose, but what did he do with his musket in the meantime?

My point really was that there should be a right sword arm in any case, a left one being largely wasted.

Thanks for the positive comments, yes the heads will be sold separately.
Paul has put the arms on just so people can see how they look, there will be both left and right arms with sword and musket when the figures come out, this is so you can have more variety in the storming party and choose which weapon you have in the free hand of the figures carrying the ladders.
If you build a regiment charging with both sword and musket then it would make sense to have the sword in the right hand.
cheers Nick

Lucky the GNW was in the 18th century then :-)))

Superb figures! Along with your additions to the WSS line over the last year, I think you have created some of the finest figures for the hobby I've seen in years. Your figures have singlehandedly led me to concentrate on these periods.
Thank you and Paul for your efforts, creativity, and fine figures!

Those are exceptional looking figures. The faces are amazing. So good.

"Lucky the GNW was in the 18th century then :-)))"

The very beginning of it – so anybody fighting in the ranks would have been born in the late 17th C. and raised according to its customs. (I do make mistakes occasionally, but am not yet so old as to mess up the timeline.)

"there will be both left and right arms with sword and musket"

Thanks Nick, just wanted to make sure, after coming across "juggler" figures from a different manufacturer.
