I don't know about the rest of you, but I often find it difficult to procure an adequate variety of figures to command my ancient armies. Fortuately, Eureka does a nice variety for the Assyrians (in 28mm):

I have also included shots of the entire army, deployed for battle:

A mighty fine showing of officers!
Well done Peter.

They are great figures, Nic, and as you can see, they fit in just fine with my old Minifigs and Hinchliffe troops!

I love the gate guard statues. I am tempted to trouble Nic for an army.

Nice work. What game do you run them for? Hail Caesar?

HH, Esq:

They are based to essentially WRG/DBX standards, so are usable for most rules. They have seen the most action over the years with my own gridded rules, based upon the old FGU rules, Legion!

Other than that, they have seen a number of games with Piquet: Archon, Hostile Realms, and will be used with Pulse of Battle vs. my Egyptians. They would certainly work fine with Hail Caesar, which I have played once in a club game, Rome vs some Gallic Barbarian horde, as well as many other rules sets.

Gavin,

Nic's figures are excellent, as you can see form the command examples, and of course avoiding international mail charges, customs and the like, etc is always a plus for buying "local"!

I was really happy to find the "Shedu"/"Lamasyu" winged bulls for window dressing for my Assyrians…. although in the case of the game played with Hostile Realms, they took the field as the actual magical beings, and they were TOUGH! :-)

Those Lamasyu are perfect for the period. Also, they would be great for a middle eastern themed HR army. Where did you get them?

Nic's a long time friend and I have a discount card set (if only I can find them). I also have some of the Eureka bowmen about somewhere. I'll have to fish them out.

Love those Lamasu
