So, where exactly is the con taking place? I saw hotels but did not see convention location. Thanks.

Ok, found it in the news blog, like buried treasure grin

NJ Convention and Expo Center. Yes?

WarWizard17 Feb 2014 8:09 a.m. PST

I could not find convention location anywhere. I suggest putting it on the home page.

Hope to make it to this show this year.

This would be an easier drive than Virginia, for this New Englander. wink

Now that Cold Wars is over, time to start thinking about a game (or two) for NJCon in June.

I'm sure NJCon will be popular with all those GMs in the Northeast who don't want to make a longer drive to you know where in July.

The Bring and Buy at NJCon should also be worth a look for both buyers and sellers.

Plus, NJCon has food trucks.

Hope to see you there.

Cliff promised a topless massage chair with hot oil for the con

Blue Devil 8818 Mar 2014 4:59 p.m. PST

Problem is it is Cliff that's topless.

I can tell Rusty was scarred from the sight we both saw at Cold Wars on Saturday.
If only there was a way to blind my minds eye. lol.

I'm busily working on my 28mm Pegasus Bridge game for NJcon (Fire in the East). I'm going all out getting ready for this game since its being played on the anniversary.
I may start to post some work in progress photos once it begins to take shape.

Is there going to be a SAGA tournament? I thought I read somewhere that there would be an Xwing and a SAGA tourneys but I only see FOW and DBM tournaments listed on the events.

Tom and tancred,

Short answer is YES, I will put you down as players. We will be posting the event over the weekend. 3 rounds with room for 8 players for Saturday.

114th PA, thanks. I just ordered the rulebook and am a novice, to say the least. I hope that is okay.

47Ronin14 Jun 2014 12:01 p.m. PST

Great convention.

Well done to all those who made it possible.

47Ronin11 May 2020 12:37 p.m. PST

Rather than start a new topic, I went into the TMP Achieves and picked out the most appropriate title regarding NJCON to pass along the following update.

If you have attended NJCON/Fire In The East (usually held in June) in the past (like I have), you might have been wondering about its status for 2020. It will come as no surprise that the convention has been postponed. In addition to the virus lockdown still in effect in NJ, the venue was not available this year. For details, please see the links above to the NJCON website.

As you will see, there is still hope that NJCON may return in the Fall. NJCON is hosted and supported by a dedicated and experienced group of organizers, vendors and GMs. If anybody can find a way to go forward with a convention, they can. Most of them already survived "SweatCon" years ago, the pictures from which are on the NJCON website.

This also might be an opportunity to return to Somerset, the home of the Historicon that never was. We'll see.

Either way, hope to see you there.

TRUgamer12 May 2020 4:36 p.m. PST

Sorry to say NJCON-"Fire in the East" will not be happening in 2020. It's just not in the cards.

TRU

114th Pennsylvania Supporting Member of TMP12 May 2020 5:13 p.m. PST

Sorry All,

But NO NJCON12- "Fire in the East" in 2020

The Convention Center is currently being used for COVID-19. We will not go in the Fall since we do not want to effect Barrage nor Fall-In, since we have been accused in the past of trying to compete with HMGS shows which was total BS.

Thank you to all our supporter and Vendors that have helped us to grow the show, we shall see you next year.
