Using Pendraken High Elves
link

Although I´m not very happy with the individual result of each figure, I think the overall look of the unit is pretty good.

Hope you like them!

Those look great!
I can't imagine doing that many 10mm conversions.

Ouch! Yeah, they are terrific, but my head hurts at the idea of doing even a single unit of conversions, much less an Easterling army that way!

My plan is just to go with some suitably exotic historicals, like Sassanid Persians or Sarmatians…

Those look great. How did you do the conversion? Did you start with the figures on the left in the last picture?

@Parzival
I won't do an entire army, God save me! :-)
If I get enough courage I'll do a second unit for my multirace-Mordor army. Have you seen the new Pendraken's Mongol range? It would be my choice.

@Black Cavalier
This is the original idea: link

I've used a pendraken high elf as base, and just modify the helm and the spear, and some belts. Shoulder pads take too much time…

The black soldiers on the left are Copplestone Castings "Gondor" spear men, just for size comparison.

Cheers!

Mongols for Easterlings? Yeah, that would work well. And maybe keep my Sassanid or Sarmatian idea for Southrons… (though I'm still wanting to see a line of Scythians with the bizarre helmets for one of these armies).
