I really like splintered lights new line of pc's for dungeon crawls, but I hate the way they are packaged. To get a old school party with a fighter, rogue, wizard, cleric, elf and dwarf you end up with six packs and a lot of surplus. I understand hat they are cast in sets and that it wouldn't work to sell them individually, but how about an option for a grab bag with one random mini from each set? Then you are getting a some what balanced party. Just an idea! Would anyone else e interested in something like that? |

15mm.co.uk sell their model seperately and Rall Partha sells skirmish packs from the different codes of their demonworld range so I think it would be doable. I would guess it is just a question of demand. If enough people ask for it, who knows. Now to answer your question, yes I would definately be interested. |

Random? No. Single (higher cost acceptable) always. |

Logain, Thanks for your thoughts. I decided to go the route I did as I have seen other companies do over the years from TSRs old adventuring sets to Grenadier's old d&d line. It is always a challenge trying to figure out how people are going to want things packaged and what makes the most sense with mold arrangement. With that said, please feel free to email me at splinteredlightminis[at]gmail[dot]com as I am happy to help you put an order together with a random set of adventuring types. Don't think I've ever in my life said "I wish I could get these minis in a randomly packed bag"! |

Thanks, David! I'm a big fan of splintered light, I've already got two of armies of dark-ages figures, and most of your line of orcs. I'll definitely take you up on the offer. @miniOn yeah, I know, probably the only situation where I would buy random stuff, but SLM's dungeon crawl line is awesome. I just don't need 60 adventurers, but would like to be able to have a set or two of your standard dungeon crawl types. |

What about something like a basic adventuring party set, say one fighter/mage/thief/cleric male and female = 8 figures. Then if people like it you could do a second set with maybe say one bard/druid/paladin/ranger male and female. These and the dungeon encounter sets(when the second one comes out) would be a no-brainer for me = instant dungeoncrawl. |

I'm a big fan of SL too.I'd love to eventually get the adventurers and baddies to play Song of Gold and Darkness. I have alot of the Dark Age as well as a lot of the Wood Elves. |

Not to change the subject, but as I was just perusing the SL website again, a thought struck me- SL makes a Pegasus figure, and SL makes Vikings- Hmm, maybe SL should do a Valkyrie! Both mounted and on foot, please. |

I love the figures and most of the time I just trade may extras off :) RebelMike Rebelminis.com |

Having read the thread more closely, I understand the issues better now
What would be the minimum number of character classes in an assortment, assuming inclusion of a Male and Female figure of each type? Magic User, Cleric, Rogue and Warrior is already eight figures. |
Logain | 11 Feb 2014 7:42 a.m. PST |
Hey RebelMike, yeah I would do that, but I am a pilgrim in an unholy land so to speak. My brother and I are the only ones locally that have seen the 15mm light. We are working to convert others, and get you and David some more business. @Panfilov for some reason it seems to me 4 to 6 adventurers in a party is about average. I like the idea of 6 characters with a few being demi-humans, a few being females, and at least one being in each of those four main categories. |

skinkmasterreturns, Great idea! I will have to check into getting that done. |

Panfilov, At the moment, I have figures for 11 character classes and will eventually get around to adding monks. The classes are Fighter Magic User Cleric Paladins Undead Hunters Thieves Assassins Bards Rangers Druids Barbarians |

One thing I would like to do is make a mounted version for each of the adventurers I do, which will obviously take some time and money. It might work to do those a few as a time as mixed sets with the mounted and foot version together. |
stroezie | 11 Feb 2014 11:46 a.m. PST |
I would love having mounted and foot versions of the same figures and also melee and ranged variants. If you would crowdfund I would back, preorder
sign me up, maybe you could do something like the eureka miniatures 300 club. |

Okay, here are my two "Ideal" packs for an adventure party. Mounted and dismounted versions of all
of course. "xA" labeled figures would be in a separate pack from "x" labeled figures. Light armor would be leather or studded looking. Medium would reflect partial body mail or scale. Heavy would be full body mail or scale. 1) Large bulky Male Human fighter in Light to Heavy armor with two handed Sword/Axe/Pole-arm weapon (if no armor could be classic "barbarian" but I digress) 1A) Replace pole weapon with Javelins and Shield, lighten armor, possibly lighten weight and/or height and make Female. 2) Medium height, medium weight Human (alternately Elven) male fighter with Longbow (or Recurved bow,) sheathed sword (or axe in belt.) Could be using shield and hand weapon if bow slung on back. Light to Medium armor. 2A) #2 but female. 3) As #2 (also could be dwarf/Gnome) but with crossbow replacing Longbow. 3A) As #3 but female. 4) As #3 but with Mace, Club, or Flail (one or two handed) instead of sword and no missile weapon. Shield, "Holy Symbol" optional. Armor can vary from Light to Heavy. 4A) As #4 but female. 5) Medium height, Slender magic caster. Human, Elf, or Gnome Male. Dagger or staff weapon optional. 6) As #5 only female 7) No/very light armor wearing male of medium to short height, medium to slender weight, with sword, dagger/knife, and/or sling (thief or assassin type.) 7A) As #7 only Female 8) Another Fighter as #3 with different mix of weapon/armor/shield 8A) Female Fighter as #8 |

Honestly, just looking at the Splintered Light store alone, you can go a long way by picking up a couple choice singles from the Archer collection. Add those to one of the packs from the Player Character sets (yes, they're called "Warriors of
" but the figs can serve as different classes) plus a command pack or two from the fantasy armies or the Dark Age historical personalities. |

I've seen a few 15mm HeroQuest projects out there and it would be cool to see a set with a similar mix to the original HQ box. Obviously something would have to replace fimir and chaos warriors, but SL has pretty much everything else. Would make a great "starter set" for dungeon encounters as a whole. |
