I have finally started getting some traction on my 3mm Soviets. I am building my forces at one stand equals one battalion. i want big battles! I took a few shots tonight after basing a couple of new T64 stands as well as builing a couple of terrain pieces Forgive the lighting, as the light in the room was a bit too warm.

WCTFreak, I am actually going to use a board game set of rules called Corps Command: Dawn's Early Light. Additionally, I may try a variation of Memoir 44. I am also open to whatever else comes along!

Very nice, love the tank tracks on the bases.

I also based my (2mm) stuff in pairs for Warpac forces, those infantry are rather better defined than the 2mm ones.

Martin, I have to say the tank tracks are pretty cool in my mind! I am really impressed with the infantry, I also ordered some of the new NATO figures they released. Once I finish another tank division and a motor rifle division I am going to start on some BAOR and West Germans.

I really love the tiny field you made. How did you do it? I do platoon stands rather than battalion ones, but your minis look really good!

HistoryPhD….what I did on the field is I went to Hobby Lobby and in their paper section they have sheets that are a fine corrugated pattern that I use for the plowed fields. I mounted it on a thin cardstock for sturdiness and then carved out a section for my base green matt. I painted and then highlighted the corrugated paper. I am building some of my terrain to work in offset squares, kinda the same effect as hexes. This is a piece I was testing out to go in my grid. I am also working on making some fields in varying shades of green to give it that rolling field look. I hope it ends up looking as good as I see it in my head.

I like non-square fields. The vast majority of European fields are irregular shapes.
